    Stan The Man

Thats right Stan, a players performance could never be effected by his mental state could it!

    What are you talking about?

Rafa Benitez has often blamed boardroom struggles at Anfield for problems on the pitch. But that is rubbish - it never affects players once they cross the white line. But what really caught my eye during protests against the American owners was the campaign to allow the fans to buy the club and have an equal share in the same way Real Madrid and Barcelona do. That would stop businessmen with no interest in football making a quick buck out of the clubs we love.

I, for one, would buy a bond.

I live in the same city as the pub he got thrown out of in Australia. In a stranger twist of fate, I will be working on their website soon!

Fair play to him on the last line though. Wish a few more former players would back it. Not like they're short of a few bob, half of them are taking Sky's dirty money

That's the thing though, he is so we can quite happily disregard his comment.

On buying a share though, if he means it.

Being slightly distracted by some unrest between the club owners and club manager is a massive difference to being diagnosed with a medical condition affecting your mental state. What a ridiculous thread.

Are you Stan's dogging partner or something? I've never seen such support for someone so undeserving in my life.

The biggest joke in all this is that he has a column in a national newspaper. Idiot.

Carheex is right though, there two issues of boardroom instability and emotional/mental problems arent comparable.

I'm a firm believer that any player who says what's going on in the background is affecting their performance on the pitch in any way significantly, is actualy deluded themselves.

It's total bollox and the most pathetic EXCUSE they could come up with.

Dirk kuyt falls over the ball, blame the men upstairs!

i think that many things actually do effect players and to pretend otherwise is a bit silly.

There is a point there, the two things are pretty different.

The way Stan Collymore's problems were initially treated by the media, and his club at the time, Villa, was a disgrace. Having said that, Stan did absolutely nothing to help himself whatsoever from that point on either, including some pretty inexcusable things that frankly, made him fair game.

Still, it always suprises me a bit the way lfc fans remember him. I remember Fowler and he scoring a ridiculous amount of goals together, him netting 28 in 63, which ain't that shoddy, the winner in the best premiership game ever, and the fact we sold him to Villa when it started to go wrong for almost what we paid.
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
                              Mine angry and defrauded young?
