substantial parts of the press are manchester-based. theyve been media "darlings" long before they were any good. the roots of that are in the tragedy of munich and the romance of busbys side triumphing in europe a decade later.

that said, the scum polarise opinion - there are indeed many journos who hate them as much as lfc. theres plenty to hate imo.

iread a wide variety of the papers in work and I just don't see some ante LFC agenda. Sure some people don't like the club but that applies to all the top clubs.
not sure i can see what youre getting at with the 1st point. what youve posted doesnt make sense to me.

as i see it - the papers sell nationally - if you want to please the majority then you need a suitable minority to bash and please said majority. unfortunately - and largely thanks to the last 40 years of political and football history - were the minority that takes the bashing. the mancs and the cockneys are in the majority that laps it up

Not a print journo, but Alan Greene on Radio 5 is a red. Best commentator there is too.

You really think that? I used to like him but increasingly his all opinion, zero explanation of what is going on pisses me off. He is also an irritating know it all commentator - never tries to see why a top coach/manager might have a different opinion to him. IMO he is just a gob****e with a microphone, but each to his own.

I've gone off him as well, seems to have contempt for any view other than his. MrM won't be happy what with Greeny being from Norn Iron.

Alan Green is a frustrated Red, hence he spends all his time moaning if we're not 5-0 up inside 10 minutes. I too used to like him - and sometimes share his frustration - but my heart now sinks when I hear he'll be commentating on one of our games.

Paul Merson - now there's an anti-Liverpool agenda.

Alan Green was really laying into us on 5-Live and 606 on saturday.

                    Merson does my head in!!

Alan Green has always been frustrated, mainly with Benitez's rotation system and the lack of oppurtunity for Crouch. I love it when he absolutely rips into the England national side, its something different compared to the optimistic Mike Ingham.

Merson hates Liverpool and we feel the same about him

                      Andy Gray is a cunt
