We went to cancel them out. Carragher said it as well. Thats the sort of attitude we have. The Italian one. Defence first, not losing, a draw will be ok one.

If we are to be winning the league, we need to start beating teams away from home regardless of records.

There's nowt wrong with going to places like Chelsea with that attitude.

It's not results like today which stop us making a title challenge.

I seriously thought we could have won today whilst watching the game. Cancelling the opposition can be good but Rafa needs the patterns of play up front as well. We lacked that certain je ne said quoi in the final third.

Yeah and that was down to a lack of quality up front, not the system or the tactics. Torres would've won us the game today.

Thought we were solid throughout. Special mentions for Masher and Skrtel.

If we'd have gone into the game with our confidence higher I reckon we would have won there today. Chelsea were poor - but was that down to our tactics and workrate?

Rafa played a blinder today, if we'd of lost people would've been saying why play Skittle instead of Hoops, why play Lucas, Stevie and Mash in the centre, why play two up front away to the Chavs.
                    Well in Rafa.

Slow motion of Mike Riley falling down was funny and also Babel's handball which I missed like because the camera decided to show some numpty with a 'Lampard is a legend' sign

We did as well as could be expected. Little frustrating though as I felt Chelsea were there for the taking today.

Babel looked far more comfortable on the left hand side in our dutch style 4-3-3 formation. He had the beating of Beletti all game. His final ball and decision making are still really poor though. If they improve he could be a hell of a player.

Skrtel was excellent today. Didnt make a mistake all game, looked very physical, is strong in the air, has good pace and is decent on the ball. He looked more confident the longer the game went on. I think he will prove another good signing. Rafa knows a defender when he sees one, thats for sure.

Such a shame Torres was injured as we might have had enoughto finish them off today he he been there.

Chelsea away was a good point to get today. But we should have won.

First half we had them. After a nervous start, we started stroking the ball round and they were getting nowhere near us. We created enough chances to be 1 or even 2 nil up at half time.

Second half was their's but we did enough to cancel them out. We missed having Torres to hit them on the break. They were leaving themselves vulnerable at the back, but we had no-one with enough pace to exploit it.

                          Notable mentions go to:
Babel - a rare start and I thought he demonstrated that he is getting the hang of English football. He looked good.
Gerrard - seemed revitalised. Looked as though he'd been let off the leash and allowed to roam where he liked. He made a definite difference.
Skrtel - He had a good game. Looked far more assured. Is definitely starting to gel with the rest of the back four. If he keeps going at this rate, he'll definitely repay the £6.5 we shelled for him.
Mascherano - Holy ****. Is this guy for real? He was everywhere at once. Man of the Match for me.
No! I am NOT in denial!

I don't know what you think, but to me, Babel was ****ing awful today. Yes, he was getting forward and all that ... But he lost more balls today than Kuyt when he has a shocker and Babel's passing is on the same level as Momo's.

He needs to practice more on the techincal side of his game because you will get nowhere if you just run with the ball and fail to beat the first defender on the way.

His first touch is also very bad.

And yes, I agree, we missed Torres today big time!

Looks like Hyypia will be fourth choice when Agger gets back. Rafa won't need to rush Agger back and that is always good.

Excellent game from Skrtel. Another good signing by Rafa Lucas showed today that he should play with Masch in the middle. Gerrard should play in the position he played today, as the right sided player in a 4-3-3.

Our best TEAM performance the last couple of months.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
