    Skrtel

Surprised that no one has started a thread after his performance today.

He had a superb game. Big, powerful, pacey, good reading of the game, excellent passer, good in the air.

Think we might of found Sami's successor at last.

Heh. I thought that was Agger.

Poor lad gets injured and it's like he was never here!

In a couple of years when Carragher moves to the back room, Agger and Skrtel will be a good pairing. Both young enough to learn each others game.

His best game so far. Looks well settled in now.

Good game today, but he's also had an awful one or two...

I'll reserve judgement before i call him the next Sami/Carra.

yeah he looked composed on the ball and a good all round defender, he's quite quick aswell, if all goes right for him our defence looks to be in sound condtion for the future with him and agger.

if all goes well for him this season and agger is back then can we see the possibility of carra taking a sami sort of role in the years to come? ie less action.

Not really he had a dodgy 15minutes against Havant. He was fine when he come on against Villa, fine against Sunderland and fine again today.

Even just an awful 15 mins against the plumbers is enough to set alarm bells.

Just think it's too early to be unstitching Sami's name off his shirt, so to speak. If Skrtel had been woeful for 4 games, everyone would be saying it's too soon to write him off, and likewise, it's too soon to decide he's the next Sami.

Thought he was superb - this was a very tough game to play in only your second or third start since moving to your new club a month ago!! Chelsea away at Stamford Bridge is a tough assignment in anyones book.

Give the lad some credit he has everything slide tackle, strong headerer, good awareness to play a forward pass. He also looks very strong and I think he'll be better than Vidic in the long run.

                    Great buy Rafa!!

Your too good to be true, can't take the ball off you you got a heavenly touch, you pass like Sounness to rush. And when we're pissed in the bars we thank the Lord that your ours

If you're not willing to give a player any sort of time whatsoever then yeah.

But...do you not see how it's silly to say "Oh it's too early to judge him badly" and then go and judge him as the next sami after an equal amount of time?

Who's said that? Can only see someone saying we "might" have found Sami's successor.

Well it's been implied, hasnt it? And i'm suggesting that i'd prefer to wait a bit longer before making my judgement on him.

Not really no, it's one person saying we might have found a successor to our defender who's getting on. Dont see anyone saying he's the "New Sami".
