Deserved win for Liverpool and a MOTM display from Captain Gerrard yet again showing that he is the man to step up for Liverpool when he is most needed. On this showing Liverpool clearly have the class to secure 4th place, but Benitez will still be coming out in cold sweats when he thinks about possible injuries to the captain and the one shining light in Liverpools season, Fernando Torres, clear proof that when given top dollar, Rafa can produce.
In what has been a turbulent season for the Reds, their season could actually turn out to be a huge success. Repors in todays press highlighted the inevitable buy out of DIC, whilst the Reds seemingly click through the gears to find form at just the right time to battle for forth place and another Champions League victory a distinct possibly. In fact, whisper it quietly, but with half of the Man U squad recieving long term injuries in a bloody battle against Lyon, Arsenal suddenly hit by a sick bug likely to see them in their sick bed for three months, and a Chelsea squad seemingly in turmoil, the title charge could yet be back on. No wonder Lionel Messi has sent out a come and get me plea to LFC, after his contract with Barca was anulled. Reasons to be cheerfull indeed.
