That comment from manager of the year Steve McMahon. These ex players love the club so much that they have to throw more fuel into the fire. (or more to the point is that they need money in their arse pockets and not being controversial does not cut it these days)

Show me players lacking motivation because of Rafa's rotation system and I will show you gutless people lacking professional pride and integrity. In these circumstance I blame the players as much if not more than the manager.

Accept the lack of cohesion argument, and I've been saying for a few weeks now that in the face of a rut of form we need to be playing a settled line-up and formation to build understanding, confidence amongst the players.

But talk of being wrong to rest Gerrard, you play your strongest team v Barnsely etc, is media towing, bandwagon jumping nonsense, and sadly some of our former players are amongst the most guilty parties.

Well possibly mate. But this is Rafa's system, and these players should have gotten used to it by now, plus it's been successful for him and for them. They all get their fair share of games and they should accept they wont be playing every game. So I dont see why they should have a problem with it.

For me the bigger problem for the players should be playing different systems every week because they struggle to adapt and get any cohesion and momentum going. It's the changing of systems I have more of an issue with than rotation.

During the course of the match is still heat of the moment IMO. I dont think the tension and passion goes away, even during HT.

If the players are thinking "why should I bother", then I can give them 45,362 reasons why, and any player who has that qn in his mind when he goes out on the pitch lacks the moral fibre and integrity to play for Liverpool, and I'd sooner they left than Rafa.

This rotation system has gotten the majority of these players CL and FA Cup winners medals plus another CL final appearance. In the league it has gotten us a Liverpool Prem record points tally of 82 pts, so the potential is there for it to be successful in both cups and leagues

I agree that the whole playing players out of position thing for the sake of the system is a real problem that has a detrimental affect on the players.
