your all pleased with him cos he can at least pass and control a ball unlike momo. he's not shown anything exceptional about his game from what i've seen so far. squad player fine, alonso replacement (when he's match fit again) no chance, i don't see it in his locker.

Not sure what skills they look for in brazillian player of the year awards these days. Maybe its the keep it simple players that stand out as flair, creativity etc are 2 a penny there.

I really like the lad - the first time he came on in a red shirt he looked like a liverpool player - composed. I think the biggest (almost a backward) compliment i can say about lucas is that you don't notice he's there - if that makes sense, i will try and explain

He has just seemed to fit in, come into the team and does his job - he has been very consistent. What I am trying to say is, it's like he has been part of our squad for 5 years and not 5 months or whatever it is.

Class player with bags of potential - imo probably more potential than babel

Another thing - if Wenger had signed Lucas people(the media) would be wanking over wenger and how he finds these young startlets
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

          Absolutely agreed.

He's a 20 year old kid from another country, another continent...virtually another ****ing world. The vast majority of players would come here and take an age to settle and look comfortable in the shirt, yet he's slotted in so seamlessly.

He is always showing for and demanding the ball, which is really impressive, and he reads the game very well. Few stray passes last night but on the whole he was impressive again.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Lucas, the new Pirlo or Xavi. The same type of player.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Fickle *******s on here at times fair play.
we just think Xabi's doing **** at the moment as he set such high standards when he first arrived, not every player can be that good all the time without a dip in form

I'm not attempting to slag Lucas off, as I think he has the game to really succeed in this country however he wasn't especially great last night - his decision making wasn't quite there for me, sometimes choosing the wrong ball he also doesn't drive forward with the ball BUT all this can be explained by his age and moving to a foreign country.

Arguably now we can contemplate selling Alonso in the summer should it be required, assuming Mascherano is kept.

Gerrard, Mascherano, Lucas, + one more (Youth perhaps, Plessis?) should be enough to cover the "engine room"

I expected the game to pass lucas by a bit last night. Just didnt think he had the experience. He gladly proved me wrong. Held up the play and produced very sharp, neat passes (With the odd exception). Played very well a long side mascher which in turn let Stevie bomb forward a bit more than he has been doing of late!!!

ay - he makes a couple of mistakes, but he is young and leanring and adapting.

As you say tho - he looks for the ball and he WANTS the ball. - I always used to ****ing hate danny murphy(can feel my blood boil thinking about him ) when others seemed to love him - it's not that athought he was ****e or anything - he was just average, but in every game i ever watched him (even more noticeable when you are at the game) I never saw danny murphy asking for the ball or wanting the ball - granted sometimes when he got it he did something good, put he always got given the ball rather than asking or taking it.

In one of lucas first games - i was sitting with my dad in the centenary and lucas, new young lad in the team - took the ball off Gerrard - stevie was running away from goal with the ball in his stride and Lucas was running forward in a better position and he just took it off him and played a good ball out wide to some one and started an attack.... Me and my dad just looked at each other in amazement - it was the type of thing you see gerrard do every game but you never see anyone do it to the captain - esp a new young lad. - Later on in the game lucas was subbed off and gerrard went out of his way to shake his hand, give a well done and clapped him off. Something you rarely see from our captain unless it is deserved.

I remember this. I seriously believe that this is A very good attribute of stevie, especially towards the younger players. He also did it last night to babel. Straight after they played a good one two to put gerrard through in the box, he clapped babel, who wasnt looking. He then , shouted him, making sure he saw him commenting on his good play.

It is exactly what players like lucas and babel need. CONFIDENCE!!!!

                        Lucas

I taught he was rubbish. You wouldnt even know he was on the pitch. Liverpool improved when he was taken off. Its still early days for him so he should improve. As for Aurelio! he is poison, he is not a good defender and as I stated before can not take a free kick to save his life. He has taken so many now and has hardly ever forced a keeper into a save. I taught every one else played well. Good result.

Based on a handful of performances. Or did you watch his development in Brazil?

They should ban you from footy manager.

Yes you can tell that Gerrard rates him very highly.
