That's symptomatic of your views.Originally posted by DJS View PostSo would Helen Keller...
Why pay Rafa £3m per year, if you're gonna give him £60m net? Save on his salary and just grab some random off the street...
Rafa won us a CL medal, an FA Cup medal and brought us to another CL final in 3 years.
The English league is much more difficult to win because our rivals are arguably the 3 best teams in world football and with a huge spending power.
Give a little bit more respect FFS, you boring *******.

It's a shame that he hasn't a good enough partner upfront. He makes so many quality runs but no one is clever enough to use the space he opens up.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Fernando Torres: Winning titles is my top goal
Feb 25 2008
by Ian Doyle, Liverpool Daily Post
HAT-TRICK hero Fernando Torres admits he wants to be remembered as a winner and not just a goalscorer at Liverpool.
The ambitious Spaniard broke through the 20-goal barrier for the season with the treble that helped Rafael Benitez’s side see off Middlesbrough 3-2 at Anfield on Saturday.
Torres clinically netted twice in two first-half minutes before adding a third just past the hour to take his total to 21 for the campaign.
It has already matched the striker’s previous best tally of his career while with Atletico Madrid in 2004, and was his first Premier League hat-trick and first at Anfield following his previous treble at Reading in the Carling Cup in September. But Torres believes the campaign will only prove a personal triumph if Liverpool go on to win the Champions League.
“Maybe people will look at it as successful season for me, but I’ll only consider the season a success if we win something,” said the striker. “I’m 23 and I’ve never won a medal. The only time was when I was an under-16 and U19 player and that’s a long time ago.
"I’ve come here to win titles and whether that’s this season, next season, I don’t know when, but that’s my target. I hope I’m here for a long time, I want to stay here for a long time. I have six years on my contract and if everything is okay maybe it will be more.
"I’d prefer to be remembered as someone who helped Liverpool to win trophies than a great goalscorer. I’m here to win titles. The Champions League is a very important target for me. I’ve got to score goals because it’s my job but it’s not the most important thing for me.”
Torres, who became Liverpool’s club record signing when he arrived from Atletico Madrid last summer, has now scored 15 in 23 league games with his 21 goals coming in 31 appearances overall. He has already scored more top-flight goals in a season than any other player under Benitez and is on course to become the first Liverpool striker to reach 20 goals in a Premier League campaign since Robbie Fowler in 1995-96.
“Twenty-one goals is my best season yet and we still have a maximum of 18 games to go, in the Premier League and Champions League, so hopefully I can score more,” said Torres. “I’m happy when the team wins, I’m not thinking about scoring 30.
“I didn’t set myself a target at the start of the season. Obviously, I want to score as many goals as I can, it’s my job, but whether it’s 20, 25, I’ve no target. I just want to score as many goals as I can to make sure Liverpool are a success. It’s not about me, it’s about the team.”
Of his hat-trick, Torres added: “It’s the second hat-trick of my Liverpool career so it was a very happy day for me. It was fantastic to score a hat-trick in front of the Kop. It was my first at Anfield and I feel very comfortable playing here.
"When I played in Madrid, I watched Premier League games a lot and knew it would be difficult to play here and that the defenders are very strong so I would have to say it’s a surprise to have scored this many goals so quickly.”
Torres’s treble earned an under-par Liverpool only their second league victory since Boxing Day and moved them back into the top four, although they will again be overtaken should neighbours Everton earn a positive result at Manchester City tonight.
“We conceded two goals which is bad for us, but we knew Middlesbrough were a very physical team and difficult to beat,” added the Spaniard. “We’ve only had five victories at Anfield this season before this so we needed to win to give us a better chance of finishing in the top four at the end of the season. We all know it was a very important win for us.”
Torres’s contribution earned praise from his team-mate Sami Hyypia, who reveals he was initially taken aback by the strength of the Spaniard that has helped him quickly adapt to the demands of the English game.
“I think Fernando has everything in his locker for what you need to be a quality striker,” said the centre-back. “I’m not saying that we haven’t had good strikers before, but of course it’s a striker’s goal-scoring record that everyone looks at and he has a tremendous record on that front. Liverpool have always had some great goalscorers in the past and he might join them and become one of the most successful ones as well if he continues in this way.
“It’s not just his goals, though. He works very hard for the team as well. He’s very physical. Having watched him play in Spain, I didn’t expect him to be that physical, that strong, but he won’t shirk from any challenges and always gives the defenders a very hard time. From that point of view he has surprised me, but I’ve always thought he was a quality striker and now he’s proving it on the pitch at Liverpool.”

The league is a different kettle of fish, as it involves less tactics and more 'in your face' football. In Spain it was different, as football is more pragmatic there.
He'll get to grips with it, it's believing that seems to be difficult for you, and your constant need to analyze things. Football is not a science.
The ball is round and the pitch is square.
