All very convenient for Hick's this is'nt it. Sound's to me like G want's out & H want's to stay, so they smooth the ground between them for this to happen. I dont believe they are not still working together on this.Originally posted by AFII View PostGillett behind Klinsmann push at Liverpool

George Gillett - not Tom Hicks - was the driving force to replace Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez earlier this season, it has been revealed.
The Sunday Mirror says co-owner Hicks has taken the brunt of criticism from outraged Liverpool fans over the plot to replace Benitez with Jurgen Klinsmann, it was Gillett who first made contact with the German.
The move backfired and Hicks broke his silence to admit that Klinsmann had been approached.
A club insider said: "Hicks has been condemned for undermining Benitez, but Gillett contacted Klinsmann. Benitez knows this - and Gillett knows that Benitez knows.
"Hicks was asked about Klinsmann and he answered honestly by admitting Klinsmann had been approached, but the fans have been blaming the wrong owner."
Damn, i see DannyMan2006 has said much the same above.Last edited by Vermilion; 25-02-08, 12:46 PM.

If DIC and Hicks do have some kind of joint ownership, I'm happy to 'cut him some slack'. The current loans are a result of the H & G ownership/financing and it may be very different with just H and then DIC on board. Let's just wait and see.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

how about the reasons we needed so much via loan financing to have been gilletts lack of personal cash. that hicks would have invested say 50 mill of his own but not without gillett matching it. and it was the latter in in effect forced us to take on so much debt.
im going round in circles here with all this consipiracy sh1te...

DIC will want some return for their money, but there is more than one way to making it. You can strip the assets to maximize profit, or you can make some so big/good that it will make you money. From what I`ve seen/read about DIC it looks like when they buy/build something prestigious they go all the way. We won`t be another Chelsea, but we will IMO opinion be able to compete on equal terms with Scum/Arse after the stadium is built, if not before.Originally posted by kev776 View PostI love it, in the unlikely event of DIC taking over we will be saying the same thing in 12 months about them.
Does anybody honestly believe they are comimg to our club to do anything other than make a profit. Not one more penny than is neccessary will be invested by the Arabs, they want to make MONEY from us, forget "love of the club" bollox and "we are supporters" It will be out of the frying pan and into the fire.
Buying LFC to to high profile for them to blow it all away IMO, it can be a perfect PR and money making opportinity if handled correctly.Blank
