I agree with you AFII and i mentioned that in the post boro game thread.I seemed to be the only one who thought that at the time.

It's sad that Hyypia probably played one of his last games for us. I can't see him getting a new deal and he won't play that much now when Skrtel and Agger is fit again. Agger is of course not match fit yet.

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I think he might sneak a new deal unless one of the young CBs really steps up. Money would be much better spent elsewhere in the squad than a fourth choice central defender, yet we need one and Hobbs has yet to convince. So if Rafa and Hyypia himself think he could make even one in three or four games next season at the standard he has performed this season then he would be a better option than nearly anyone as he understands the systems we use.

I admit(prob with 99% of supporters)I hadn't a clue who this Hyypia guy was when we signed him.We were so desperate for a quality centre back.

Houlliers best signing by a country mile and,by using the the transfers of Ferdinand and Canavaro as yard sticks, was the best bargain in prem history, prob with the exeption of Cantona.

                Hyypia is a playing legend.

Arboloa didn't do much wrong to be fair - that said, will feel a whole lot more comfortable when one of our natural CBs return
And remember he did a pretty good job given that he is 5th choice!

You'll never get as good cover as we have hyypia. He's been exemplary this year and has shown that he can play a fair few games. We'd be daft not to keep him one more year. Especially as Rafa has said that the best in the reserves are 18-24 mos away from the first team.

Arbeloa and Hyypia as a pairing were rubbish, but as someone pointed out to me on another thread, whe else were we going to play?

I suggested San Jose or recalling Hobbs over Arbeloa, but I guess Arbeloa deserved another chance after playing there poorly in one previous game.

As Arbeloa was again poor at CB I wouldn't want him played there ever again until he bulks up and gets the required experience to read the game. Hopefully we wont be in that position again this season and will not have to discuss this again.

FFS, Skrtle wasnt fit. He was on the bench as a last resort. Will people plz stop asking stupid questions everytime Rafa makes a decision. End Of.
