I would say that at least 90% of goals will come from situations were one team can argue that it was down to luck, or a bit of misfortune.

I always say you make your own luck in football.

If you dominate a game for 90% of it, chances are a bit of "luck" will go your way.

As for the yellow cards, I've seen neutrals debate this and about 25% say the first offence was a yellow, and 50% say the second was a yellow. There are also those who are undecided. So it was no means clear cut, but Mattereazzi has been playing the game long enough to know that the bookings, as harsh as they were, became a distinct possibiliy when he carried out his actions.

And I would say Sam knows that to.

If the ref has given you a harsh yellow, you certainly don't test him with an even more 'iffy' second offence.

The ref had laid down his marker, rightly or wrongly, and professional players need to be able to react and adapt.

He didn't and got sent off.
