Football is like that, UTD spent MORE than us last season after winning the title, we we're so far away on so many levels when Rafa took charge, Youth in limbo, etc.

We need to be buying players like Torres then add to them with more like him, Rafa has never been able to do that, UTD & Chelsea do it EVERY YEAR.

I also think a managers past achievment's are VERY relative.

      I can and I do.

To clear up any ambiguity, you are saying that they believe he's a failure, they would like to see us fail and therefore they'd like to see him sign a big contract.

My point which I think you may be missing is that I think they're wrong. Like they have been wrong in the past about their own managers. Do you see that?

If so, we're back to 3 or 4 posts ago where I said, "I shouldn't have said anything".

i cant recall all the figures but they were present on the steven gerrard dissapointed thread. of which you declined to comment on when facts were thrown at you djs.

        your silence spoke volumes mate.
My silence has probably had more to do with being rather unwell and needing to go to hospital yesterday, more than anything else. Hence why i'm not at the game today. I'm sure you'll forgive...

Yep - it's been a bitch of a season. Agree with you there.

Why has he never been able to do that? I disagree. He's had the capability to spend £20m-£25m per season but he's CHOSEN to buy about 6 players with it. You get what you pay for. Maybe the penny is finally about to drop for him, although i have my doubts.

The difference is though, that they arent thinking with their emotions, where Rafa is concerned. They look at the table, look at how they GENUINELY view us in terms of a threat, have a bit of a giggle and them realise why they want Rafa to remain indefinitely.

                Spur's and Newcastle!

They have spent plenty. Where are they and what have they done? If you are going to use them as a stick to beat Rafa with it will a short and decisive argument.

Happy too, Rafa is the man.

What gets me about you DJ is the fact you are so sure Jose will come here, let alone that you think he will be the answer to our prayers.

He needed to buy those players, that's how bad the squad was, he'd have loved i bet to add a 25mill one to the list, but the squad needs cover, especially with our injuries & broken bones over recent years.

It's now getting to a stage where maybe he could blow the kitty on 1 player, we have a better depth of squad, even some promising youth.

                        ps. Get well soon.

If somehow that were proven, I'd think that they were wrong.

You ask those same fans at the end of the 2004 season whether we'd win the Champions League next year. Ask the Chelsea fans before both semi's whether we'd knock em out. In fact, ask them before all three semi's.

We're getting circular and it's mother's day* so am afraid I'm going to have to leave it. Am willing to be convinced, my mind is open, you'll just need to try a different tack as to whether Rafa should go. I'm not buying this argument at all.

*i.e. the game is on soon.

There isn't a sack Rafa brigade. Don't know why people refuse to accept the stats that he is nowhere nearer winning the title than when he took over.

I'm not the one who brought up spurs and newcastle - someone else did. Interesting clubs to choose for comparison though, quite embarrassing really.

And no, they havent spent £150m in three and a half years...
