Pezzer is spot on.Rotation causing problems is rubbish. We only suffer cos the players that get rotated in aren't good enough but it still needs to be done to keep our good ones fresh. When fergie rotates he replaces top quality with top quality and thats because as pezzer has said he's been building that club for years and dosen't have to change half the squad each year on a limited budget.Rafa is the man, nice to see our captain has finally come out in his last 2 interviews and said we have have a good manager and he knows he can wins titles with us.

The problem is that DJS can only see one side of it, the negative.
Rafa have done some bad decisions but overall he has done a fantastic job.
The club was in more or less chaos when Rafa took over. Gerrard and Owen wanted out, a **** academy, a lot of players on high wages, the stadium project a fiasco and the search for investment another fiasco.
That was the starting position for Rafa and some people says that he started in a good position
Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Rotation is the problem then!Originally posted by PoolG View PostPezzer is spot on.Rotation causing problems is rubbish. We only suffer cos the players that get rotated in aren't good enough
If you haven't got good enough players to rotate dont rotate them until you absolutely need to. Didn't Rafa come out and say recently that he's not going to rotate as much to the end of the season? A joke really. Loads of people were saying in September what's the point in rotating if you're out of all competitions come January. With the exception of one we are out of them all
There isn't a problem with changing a player here or there but when he was resting Torres and Gerrard earlier in the season that was ridiculous and cost us dear.Last edited by Sarb; 03-03-08, 09:48 PM.

Because i disagree with you, i must be on a windup? What an arrogant view.Originally posted by wiw View PostSo what? Do you really believe the squad he inherited was good enough to win the Champions League?
Has he really had 150m? You can't just take that in isolation anyway..i'm only going to repeat what AFII, shaggy and others have said in defence of what Rafa's done anyway so **** it..or are you on a wind up?

No, rafa had more to spend on each player if he'd chosen to..but he decided not to.Originally posted by pezzzer View Postwould fergie , when looking for a first team striker given himself a budget of 6 million and considerd bellamy?
would fergie when looking for a first team winger given himself a budget of 6 millio and bought pennant?
no?
rafa did because thats all he was allowed
how do you fail to grasp this djs? fergie and wenger through time have got themselfs settled squads so every year fergie esp can go out and buy 20 million plus players that are top quality to add to his settled side.
until this year rafa has had to buy outright mediocrity that dont cost the earth but can do a job, and were still short of 3 top class players due to money issues but fergie/chavs have the full set so its obvious that given the finances rafa can bring in the right quality we still lack and compete
torres and babel have been supurb buys but we need more, surely you can see that
And answer my question, another 10 years? £60m per year?

Torres was rested for one match,Birmingham at home i think and we drew. All other games he missed through injury. Also we played some of our best football this season early doors when Gerrard was out so again we can win without him.I say he has to rotate to keep players fresh you say there's no point if it means we've nothing to play for in feb.If he dosen't rotate, and we happen to get to feb near the top but the top players are then knackered and we then fall out of contention then what difference does it make,we still don't win it.Look at Real madrid in la liga, played their best players all the time,at one point 9 points clear, now they are suffering from injuries and loss of form to key players and are falling away.Rotation needs to happen but to challenge you need to replace quality with similar quality, which given time and proper resources Rafa will be able to doOriginally posted by Sarb24 View PostRotation is the problem then!

whatOriginally posted by DJS View PostNo, rafa had more to spend on each player if he'd chosen to..but he decided not to.

so rafa could of bought eto/villa then but chose bellamy?
swp was dismmissed out of hand for pennant?
so moores said to rafa" right mate, heres a blank cheque, go and buy some quality, no expense spared" but not "hmm, funds are tight at the mo and until we get bought out transfers will only be possible if we sell first but try and keep it to a minimum, theres a good chap"
fergie got his TOP targets that (and every other) year, as did maureen
but you really believe that rafa turned down top quality to by bellamy/pennant?
you have totally lost the plot mate, if indeed you ever had it. but your entitled to your opinions though.ps3 fanclub member#1

They were rested for one bloody game - pompey away. Since then when has he rested either in the league? VERY rarely if at all. Do you work for Sky?Originally posted by Sarb24 View PostRotation is the problem then!
