    ridiculous line up again

Okay this team selection is a little frustrating to me. I don't have a problem with Carra on the right but going 4-2-3-1 (as seems likely) against Bolton away I think is not particularly wise.

For starters, Bolton are a physical side, and I'd much rather they kick the **** out of Crouch than Torres, who will be forced to challenge for lots of long balls today probably.

Secondly we were pretty comfortable against Bolton at home this season with Crouch & Torres up front, despite having a novice in Hobbs in the defence. Also since Crouch joined the club our record against Bolton with him reads 3 wins 1 draw. The only game he missed - last season away - followed his great performance against Galatasaray. He was dropped after those two goals, kuyt started, got injured and we lost the match 2-0.

But Meh, I suppose Nando or Gerrard will do something and everyone will go home happy.

Let's see if he sends the team out negatively or positively.

How so? Pretty much our regular line up with Xabi in for Lucas and pretty much the best defender in the team a RB. Yes, the one that flew down the wing and crossed for an assist a couple of games ago.

We use this formation so that we can accomodate Gerrard in CM. Gerrard in a 4231 or crouch in a 442?

The assist that only Crouch could have scored from. Crouch not being in the team today.

              Rafa confirms Carra at RB.

Our formation is "flexible". Players will change position.

I'd rather Gerrard play RM in a 4-4-2 than we play 4-2-3-1 just to allow him to play centrally.

Interviewing Rafa, he talks about being flexible and players can change position during the game, don't like to blow my own trumpet but :blowingtrumpetsmiley:

I would recon 4-4-2 and 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 with Babel and Kuyt on either side of Torres.

Surely the point is, the midfield is the key?

We have 3 CM's to take care of that..we have 3 CB's if we want (all with aeriel ability, plus Skrtel's pace), Carra can do a job at RB, Gerrard Kuyt and Babel can all float around... we will win today
Sack swinging like Dub-D40 on a door hinge

so now you expect carra to be dishing it out of a constant basis???he's a centreback for crying out loud.apart from that kuyt on the right as well....i'm pretty sure that we are not gonna manufacture anything from that side today. tactics - FFS its bolton we are playing and we desperately need the win...dont tell me gerrard and mascherano cant handle the bolton midfield. i really dont see the need to have another central midfielder in the line up.In my opinion its such a negative line up especially against a poor team.

Lets not overlook the fact that Bolton will play a very physical game. Who would you rather have taking a battering? Carra or Arbeloa?

Who would you rather have trying to cut out the diagnoal balls to Davies?
