It's gonna be an absolute scream, and worth the few quid just for the atmos in my view. I reckon it'll be a boss day out every time AFC Liverpool play.

I'm not against this idea at all although but is this just a project for reds in Liverpool? Surely for the OOT fans it offers very little.
Twin boys - now arriving late August 2008.

Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!

Reds in Liverpool and nearby will get most out of it I'd guess as they can come to the games more regularly, but there's no bar.

Our main target is people who love LFC who either can't get to a game anymore or get to games very rarely, as well as those who follow LFC but who'd also follow a non league side if only there was one they had a reason to support.

Do you anticipate streaming the games, if not most OOT'ers are left in the l u r c h.

One step at a time I think. It's something to think of but the real motivation is to get people back to a footy match where they can be at a game with fellow reds, with a reason to support the team representing them on the pitch (as opposed to arbitrarily picking a non league team and not really caring).

I'd love to be able to follow real football tho'. As you know LFC is a world wide team, you really should try to tap into that, or else you'll be missing a massive opportunity to be something other than a novelty.

I know FC United have an internet TV station so its not impossible mate. It's just too early for us to think about yet.

First step is to get people to join the club, raise finances, and conclude our talks to get us a groundshare, then get our league application sorted.

Once we've done that we can focus on other things eg footy, and the sort of thing you mentioned about streaming.

As a non Scouser,i wish you the best of luck with this venture.i hope you get this off the ground on a local level but as as a Norn Irish LFC Fan i see no reson to supprt this until I have proof that this is not a pipe dream.Keep us informed and when your ready to take the next step I`m sure alot of LFC fans will jump in.For now,it`s a decent idea but as an LFC fan(In Ireland) I`ll wait on developements.

This will be your biggest obstacle.

Thing is, everything is now nicely in place for this to happen. We just need the money in as that shows the seriousness of our supporters, and it proves to the league that our club is viable.

So for those who like the idea why not chip in and make it happen.

If it falls on its face, I press the Refund button on Paypal and its nothing lost.

If it happens you're the founder member of a brand new club that will bring thousands back to football again who otherwise couldn't afford it.

What does anyone have to lose by joining up right away? Nothing.
What does anyone have to gain by joining up right away? Being founder member of a great little football club.

What does anyone have to lose by waiting? That club not happening.
What does anyone have to gain by waiting? Sod all.

All the risks are with "wait and see". All the rewards are with "join up now."

So come on people. Don't linger. If you like the idea join up. We're at http://www.afcliverpool.org.uk

I'm not a member so have no allegiances here but I think that there is most definitely something to offer for the OOT fans ...... with LFC league games being any time from 12.30 Sat afternoon to 8.00 Monday night, any OOT fans coming for the weekend can easily get to both the LFC and the AFCL footy matches in one weekend with their mates, sounds like a good weekend away to me!

The support would come from the fans yes. If 1,000 LFC fans become founder members then this club will not only exist but thrive.

Our motivations are different to FCUM as we're not setting up in response to TomnGeorge. We'd be doing this even if they'd not been involved.

But yes we're expecting LFC fans to fund it via membership of the club. The club will be wholly owned by those who become members of the club. It will be run as a non profit making coop with all profits ploughed back into the club, and all members with equal voting rights at the clubs AGM.

A *big* trophy? No idea. But our aim is to win the league in our first year. Then do the same the year after.

There's nothing stopping people from supporting both LFC and AFC Liverpool if you can. In fact, we encourage it. That's what we'll all be doing.

This is a great point. We're told by lads at FCUM that due to Sky and Setanta meddling with times that its actually very rare for there to be a clash when both LFC and AFC Liverpool are playing at home at the same time.

So people could come on a Saturday for 3pm to watch afcL and then watch the Mighties on the Sunday for a cracking weekend.

Same with local supporters too. The home games won't clash that often we're told. So both is an option if you're able to.

It's another reason why AFC Liverpool should not be seen as in competition to LFC because support for both goes hand in hand.
