There's too much quality in this side already not to be up there with United, Arsenal & Chelsea.

If we are just after replacements then maybe that would be ok, but for me Id want to replace the lesser players with great players, not nearly players.

buy alves @ 20 million, villa @ 25 million, take a gamble on vicente or someone of that ilk for next to nothing and 1 right winger (no idea who @ 20 million ish)

Net spend of 40 million. one thing for sure i'm fed up of squad players, the likes of aurelio, arbeloa, lucas, insua, nemeth are enough squad players for next year

To be honest I am short of names to put forward regarding wingers, also I agree that certainly right back isnt an issue, left back we could find someone for max £15mill who would be excellebnt, probably less.

However another world class striker is a must, just look at how our season would have fallen apart had torres bust his leg....we desperately need cover or a partner for him.

Regardless of all that I stand by my original post as im ****ed off with us finding targets and then being out priced, this year spend what it tkes, my original post ended up with a net of £60 ish mill and whilst high its not ridiculous to think we cant spend that.

But Alves can pass, can pass and can defend

Also Sagna, Clichy, Evra are all progressive, attack-minded full-backs - just sort the sort we need (hence Alves, and latterly Rafinha being touted) rather than the pedestrian Finnan & Riise types we currently have.
