well villa has openly expressed his dissatisfaction with koeman.that does augur well...but im not sure wether valencia would like to do business with us since rafa left on a sour note.LFC is definitely a huge step up for villa. silva---still not convinced about him and he is a left winger ..if babel keep improving i dont think theres a need to splash on that side of field.benayoun is an able back up.

Thinking about it I think the ideal signing would be a stirker who can also play in a front 3 on either side.
Someone like Henry would be ideal. He could easil play on the left of our current formation, as well as switch to the centre should Torres get injured.
Due to Henry getting injured quite a bit this year I probably wouldn't suggest him, but a similar type player would be ideal.
Any ideas?Forwards.......

Aguero, Agbonlahor, Ronaldinho, Lavezzi, Pandev. There isn't that many players that is as good playing behind one striker or as an out and out striker.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostThinking about it I think the ideal signing would be a stirker who can also play in a front 3 on either side.

Any ideas?Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

If we persist with the current formation, I can't see top class striker being the priority. Anyhow none of the Football Manager names being bandied about: Villa, Eto'o etc. would come to play second fiddle. It is clear with the names we are being linked to, that it will be a young hungry forward, to come in as back-up.
I thought the Aimar deal was set to be done this summer? It may be a slight risk owing to the demands of the premiership; however, he is an experienced international and would come relatively cheaply.
I think the way we are set up at the moment means we don't really need a right winger nor an orthodox striker, we need a player, who can interchange with Babel and Gerrard and be comfortable in any of the positions behind Torres.
With the two screening the back four, what I feel is the priority are the full back positions. A player like Alves would improve our attacking options immeasurably, he is also a dead ball specialist which could only help as well.

He's the best realistic target we have. Him next to Torres would be very impressive imo. If we were looking to play 4-4-2. If we were looking to play one uptop he'd be a great alternative to Torres who'd offer us a completely different kind of attack.
When I think of players I want goals, different kinds of goals, skill and either strength or speed. Amauri ticks those boxes. Although there are quite a few other strikers that'd be appropriate.
This is very impressive. Bit old mind but for the right price

i mentioned him, but to be honest he seems very happy where he is and is a local lad as well. Reckon he will be at villa at least a couple more years.Originally posted by carlton View PostAgbonlahor gets mentioned a bit do people think Villa would let him go? Weak willed, Wank or do they have a masterplan?

No way will Agbonlagor leave. Villa proved with the big signing of Young that they are not a selling club. Added to the fact he's a local lad and seems happy there.
Going on the basis of them paying about £11m for Young, I couldn't see Agbonlahor laving for anything less than £20m, and I couldn't see any club paying that.Forwards.......

Would rather see us combine the Aimar & Agbonlahor money to get 1 top top class player & keep Crouchie & Kuyt as back up. I know Aimar was top top in his day but those 2 would cost £25m between them & I reckon we could spend that better on 1 player.Originally posted by dww View PostI would think a not totally unrealistic set of players to come in would be Agbonlahor, Aimar, Rafinhia and an attacking left back.3rd place.
