My understanding is £18m - that's what the Echo always said. I imagine it was around £20m plus Luis, knocking a couple of million off the £20m fee?
I remember at the time Luis was valued at a surprisingly low fee.
I'm sick of hearing commentators and pundits calling him "the £26.5m man".
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Yep, £20m. We apparently let Atletico tell the press it was £26.5m because that was his get out clause, and they wanted to make it look as though they couldn't turn it down.
Dreams come true. Without that possibility, nature would not incite us to have them. John Updike

Don't worry i think we will sell Kuyt for £15M in the summer to Newcastle
tbf to kuyt, and ive slagged the lad big time on here befor, he looks half decent playing on the right in a 4-2-3-1 formation so for me the jury is still out on him.

But if we sold him tomorrow, we would get no more than £6million unless we get some sort of daft offer.
Twin boys - now arriving late August 2008.
Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!
With Kuyt doing better now (and he put in one good ball yesterday in 10 minutes than Pennant managed all game) I think he'll stay, especially with Rafa's comments last week about Dutch players needing a couple of years to fully get to grips with the Prem.
It's Crouch who's the square peg in a round hole if we're going to use this new system week in, week out.

crouchy's got to be worth around 10 mil in todays "anybody english is a lot dearer" market
if rafa signs a new striker in the summer then crouchy should leave, man city or borecodes must be sniffing him out
