    Torres and Gerrard

    I must admit I was surprised the other day to learn we'd scored more goals in all competitions than any other club. That total now stands, I believe, at 99. I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say I've heard around about a dozen Sky/ Talksport pundits say things along the lines of "if Torres and Gerrard don't score no-one else will".
    When you consider that the combined total for FT & SG is now 46 this means that the duo are responsible for scoring fewer than half of our goals! If ever proof of media dislike of our team and of pundits talking total bollocks this surely is it.
    I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

          when rotation comes to play again ....and lets say rafa is still around for next season.with whom are we gonna deputize these 2 with the current system??especially gerrards position

            you don't 'rotate' players like Torrres & Stevie, you only rest them occasionally (ie in the carling) so they're better prepared for bigger games - clearly as world class players no-one could adequately deputise on a regular basis

              Eamonn Dunphy, in his weekly rant aginst Liverpool, stated on Tuesday night that a satistician said that if you take away Gerrard's and Torres's goal in the League, we would be in 13th place. He neglected to tell us if the same statistician calculated where the teams above us would be if you took away goals from Ronaldo & Rooney, Adebayor & Fabregas or Lampard & Drogba. Or, for that matter, Yakubu & Cahill.

              Yet another of this man's meaningless and pointless rants.
              That rug really tied the room together.

                    Its stupid saying if you get rid of the best players from Liverpool, they wouldn't be as high in the table. Well duhh. Thats what why they are the best players. Take the examples made by Liverpel and the top teams wouldn't be in the top four and it would be a **** league
