Crouch can score goals, but in a 4231 which suits everyone except him?

We've switched to 4231 that doesn't suit Crouch!

I actually think it does suit Crouch but clearly he's never ever gonna get a game while Torres is a Liverpool player. He can only ever be the '1' unlike say Kuyt or Babel who could in theory play anywhere across the front 4 positions.

Capello used Crouch in the '1' role against Switzerland, with Gerrard, Rooney and Wright-Phillips all running off and around him. It worked very well and Crouch was impressive, but it's imperative he doesn't become isolated - in which case it's a waste of time.

At the moment Crouchie's only ever gonna get 2 minutes at the end, maximum, replacing Torres in a game that's as good as won.

The way Liverpool and England play is totally different. Crouch maybe able to work in a 1 for England where the tempo is slower and the ball is pumped into him from the back but Benitez now has this system with Liverpool with players like Alonso and Gerrard who can pass the ball and ping it toward Torres. The system we play is to ensure we strangle teams with pressure and move it at an 'English' pace.

The England system is there because we don't have good enough strikers in the country. Rooney can't play there by himself, we seen that with England at the World Cup so there isn't anyone else who can play at the International stage.

"We have also Kuyt, Crouch and Voronin, three strikers who can score goals."

Nothing wrong with this statement in my opinion - he just didn't say at what level of football they were capable of scoring the goals!

Even I can score goals - when there isn't a keeper in the goal!

                No it isn't.

Benitez and Capello have similar philosophies.

I saw voronin play a couple of times last season and he looked really useful. Early part of the season he played really well and i thought that he would have worked well behind torres.

He might find himself back in favour instead ot kuyt in our new formation on the right.

I wouldnt write him off just yet.

I think he suits this formation. He has played on the flanks with Ukraine, I think Rafa had this system in mind all along, recent purchases suggest that: Torres, Babel, Voronin, Benni, Lucas, Mascherano all fit this system very well.
                    * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Similar philosophies- different plans of attack. Defensively they are the same, attacking is totally different.
