    Torres Injury

Rafa Benitez is keeping his fingers crossed that Fernando Torres suffers no reaction to his foot injury picked up at the weekend.

Liverpool face Manchester United on Easter Sunday, whilst Arsenal take on Chelsea on the same day, and Benitez is anxious that his top striker is fit for the game.

Torres picked up a foot injury in the first half against Reading but managed to battle through and Benitez is hoping he shakes off the knock.

Benitez has also denied that the side are becoming over reliant on the striker whose goal against Reading was his ninth in his last six games.

He told Daily Post: "We are not too reliant on Torres. People were asking why do you change, why do you rotate? You do it to try to keep the players fresh and clear of injury.

"So now when you have one week, or three or four days in this case, you can use the players.

"But you must be thinking about the next games and three games in six days or six games in 16 days, all of them with very high tempo and demanding a lot physically from the players. We need to think about each game.

"We have also Kuyt, Crouch and Voronin, three strikers who can score goals."

I don't think it's too serious. A bit of kidology from Rafa there.

Well Crouch can score goals. And I'm quite sure it wouldn't do much good for confidence if he said, "Crouchy can score goals. We also have Voronin and Kuyt who are ****."

Well to be fair to Rafa, I can't see United scoring too without Ronaldo. He's saved their skin lately.

Eh? I'm not questioning that. And I don't know where you've got that from.

As I said, saying that they can score goals will have a better effect on confidence than saying otherwise. It's fairly simple, and quite an arbitrary statement in any case.

very true fredo but there's a vast difference between utd's other two strikers and our other strikers,it's just amusing hearing comments like "We have also Kuyt, Crouch and Voronin, three strikers who can score goals." i mean they probably can every full moon

it's an hilarious comment to make about crouch kuyt and voronin,if any of these 3 score 1 goal from now till the rest of the season then you have a valid point other than that it's a weird remark from rafa

to be fair kuyt scored 12 league goals in his debut season.
crouch scored a few in his debut season as well (after a long wait) including one against the mancs.
