Excellent first half and a controlled second without needing to give 100%. Gerrard back to his best again and Skrtel and Hyypia controlled everything at the back without any problem at all.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Good win, fully deserved, started brilliantly, first half an hour we were flying.
2nd half was a scrappy affair, not much going on.
Every player played their part but it seems Sky Sports think Gerrard was the only player on the pitch. It's all about Steven Gerrard."Let me say for the record, I am not a gangster and never have been. Im not the thief who grabs your purse. Im not the guy who jacks your car. Im not down with the people who steal and hurt others. Im just a brother who fight back."

I thought a lot of our boys went missing in the fsecond half, but we had enough in the tank to see it out. Everton were very poor.
I did think Kuyt was excellent today, am not his biggest fan, but he worked hard all game, it was epitomised at the end when he kept chasing and closing down space when Everton wanted to get it long.

-Skrtel grew in confidence as the game wore on, very impressive.
-Gerrard and Torres played to the high standards expected of them.
-Babel threatened with his pace in the first half but quickly drifted out of the game and never really produced anything, needs to work on his decision making and final ball.
-Kuyt should have grabbed a goal but put some good balls in, got an assist and came close at the end, workrate excellent as always and was tidy in possession.
We really ought to have got that second goal and made things more comfortable. Rafa sent the players out with the right approach and mentality, we did well because of it, hopefully with that little bit more quality in the final third next season we'll put these kind of games beyond doubt sooner.
Notable off the pitch was Andy Gray's insight in pointing out that with us leading 1-0 there was only one team winning the game. Thanks for clearing that one up, Andy. Good of him to admit we'd "probably sort of just about by a hair's breadth done enough" to be a goal ahead during the second half, though. He also managed to bemoan zonal marking, which was nice.
