Great Result but I thought Xabi Alonso was very poor. His passing was awful. Simple 5 yrd passes and not finding a team mate. I thought he was the muts nuts a couple of seasons ago but he is playing with no confidence oor self belief at the moment. I really hope he gets his act together.
He wasn't that bad imo.It was him breaking up the oppostion play that lead to our goal.

He wasn't awful but his passing isn't as good as it used to be - he still needs to get back to form. And I am waiting to see him truly break the habit of giving away free kicks close to the box. I suppose he'll be having a few sleepless nights at the moment though...

I'm not worried about that aspec of his play TBH. At his best Xabi is the definition of composure, can keep the ball, find space, dictate the tempo of play in the middle of the park, keep the ball moving, build attacks, play a killer ball and support the attack. I don't see any of this in his game at the moment which is what we need IMO. He looks scared every time he gets the ball and invariably gives the ball away.
Will you **** off with you patronising agenda against Gerrard!
You are so transparent,it's unreal!
Why don't you go and post elsewhere if you dislike our club captain so much.
****ing Tiresome is what you are.
You're ****ing me off pal.
After a good, much needed Derby win i'm looking for Sky to look throughout the Liverpool side and discuss a number of our players.
Instead they as usual focus on Gerrard's role within the team, playing off the front man thing, saying it's not his best position. Yet when Rafa plays him in centre mid with just one other centre midfielder that's not his best position either. Nor is right midfield.
I know he's a great player, still our best one but ffs i;m sick to the back teeth of Keys, Redknapp and co go on and on about him.
It's not Gerrard's fault though to be fair but still.

Tupac
Lucas was excellent he desreves to start next to Masch on Wed
Xabi would be too slow against Arsenal.
Reina
Carra Skirtel Hyppia Risse or Arbeloa
Lucas Masch
Kuyt Gerro Babel
Torres
Players we should be signing:
Lallana, Lovren, Moreno, Vorm, Shaqiri , Memphis Depay and Adele Ali
Players who should be going
Reina, Brad Jones, Coates, Kelly, Agger, Lucas, Assaidi, Suso, Borini, Aspas

I could (if i thought it was worth it) find a few of your recent post's slagging off Gerrard, but i really think that most of us can see through your agenda.
Btw,have a look at your own sig.

I see where your coming from blacky but it's surly no coincidence that since Xabi has come back,we have looked a much better team. When we have the 2 or 3 players equal to his and Gerrard's and Torres's ability,he will be a hell of alot more consistent.
I thought Babel today was really poor.

xabi stating to look really slow on the ball. he seems as though he lacks confidence just now. he's getting caught in posession far too much for someone of his ability.
babel looked really good today. his pace scared the **** out of everton and all that was lacking was his crosses.
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

I really have high hopes for him but he doesn't seem to know what to do with the ball at the most crucial moment.
Maybe he doesn't understand his role in the team?

i think his main problem at the moment is trying to decide when is the best time to go for the bye line and put a cross in and when to come into the middle of the pitch and have a shot. not enough times IMO has he gone for the bye line and in the instances when he does his crossing isnt the greatest. i beleive he will be the next henry but he needs to polish off the edges to his game.

Wow,that is some hope.I would take half the player Henry was at his peak.
The comparison with Henry is proberbly unfair on Babel,do you think it may hinder his progress at all?
