    Ques

Why is it that when some Liverpool players score at the Kop end they run over to the Main Stand waving/jesturing etc as oppossed to running to the Kop.(which is seen as the main attraction of Anfield)
Ie Torres yday. Is that where the players family/friends always sit or what's the story?

Hope not, cos I'm sure Mascher shouted "**** off" repeatedly in that direction when he scored against Reading

They run over to the main stand side not the cemetary stand. Thats the one you see when you watch it on TV. The main stand is the one they run towards

Gerrard seems to run to the right regardless of which end he scores in. At away grounds too I've noticed.

                  I can't believe i'm that sad.
                  Oh I don't know.

i'm pretty sure it's where family/friends sit - tho i have sat there a few times so maybe they are looking for me

Sometimes before a game you see a few players walk towards that corner looking up and then point and wave etc

I think it's where the club give out tickets to family/players/friends, I remember being up there years back and Heggem was sat in the row behind!

It is indeed the families/friends/freebies/hangers on part of the ground.

they run in the direction of the tv cameras..... it is all about getting on the highlights .... you will also notice that anybody who scores in the first couple of games in the season will do all they can to do a proper tv celebration..... because they know that the footage used at the early part of the season will be used in all the intro's for the rest of the year

I Would like to know the answer to this too. The majority of the time a goal is scored in the Kop end the goal scorer goes over to the corner near the main stand???? Gerard does it all the time.
They always seem to gesture up to that corner section too. Anyone know why?? It has happened a lot this season.
It use to be a case of running into the Kop, get your yellow card and enjoy it.
                              Much better way to celebrate.
