One thing is for certain. This public feud in our board is really embarrassing now, even more than before which i didnt think was possible

Oh the irony. Myself and someone else, can't remember who, said the same thing a couple of weeks ago and we were pummelled. To be fair though RafaShankly was open minded enough to listen to the arguments.Originally posted by Steve101 View PostI think you have a very valid point. So, how will Hicks pay for the players we need to challenge and overtake ManU and Chelsea?Originally posted by Steve101 View PostI think you have a very valid point. He would need to splash out on one striker, a right wing back, an attacking playmaker and one or two wingers.
We are talking about something like £100m.
Striker.....£20m+
Right wing back...£11.5m(Rafinha)
Winger(s)....£20m-£40m
Attacking playmaker....£20m+
ManU and Chelsea will continue to move forward and get even better. Only Torres and Masch quality will do if we want to overtake them.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

as I said earlier Parry, I believe, has been trying to play all sides off against each other in order to save his job. Appearing with Hicks in public on Tuesday? Not the first time he has pulled a stunt like that. Did he not do the same with Kraft and appear with him and co at their stadium?Originally posted by Ben Tover View PostIs there the possibility that Parry was secretly trying to get DIC to buy Liverpool behind Hicks's back and he found out?

Well, I think that everyone that even thinks that Hicks is any good for Liverpool FC are idiots but that is my opinion.
He hasn't spent a single pound himself yet so the point about Masch, Torres and Babel is totally wrong. The banks paid for them and we will pay £30m/year in interest.
How the feck will Hicks be able to pay that plus give Rafa enough money to challenge and overtake ManU?
He isn't rich enough to do that.Just believe and you never know what will happen.

We'll take one step at a time. I think Rafa has reconciled himself to the fact that width next year will come from the fullbacks so will concentrate on them. Rafainha is a good start.Originally posted by AFII View PostSo, how will Hicks pay for the players we need to challenge and overtake ManU and Chelsea?

BTW I think everyone has settled on the fact that a Riquelme / Elano type playmaker is not the way to go. Current wisdom is that playmakers who sit deeper such as Xabi and Pirlo will be better as they have more space than someone sitting in the final 3rd. You've seen how Elano has been marginalized in the 2nd half of the season so a final 3rd playmaker is probably very low on the list of priorities.
Rafainha and someone on the RW is probably all we need to get in the top 3, which is as much as we can hope for in the current climate. The Crushing Machine MKII

Fair enough but as you said, it isn't enough if we want to win #19. It's enough to be able to do what Hicks talked about, that winning isn't the most important thing when it comes down to make a profit.Originally posted by El Jefecito View PostWe'll take one step at a time. is my understanding as well, he had not put a penny in of his own money until the refinance deal and even then it wasnt that much of his own cash he stumped up. the only reason the two teamed up was because neither of them could "afford" the club on their own.Originally posted by AFII View PostWell, I think that everyone that even thinks that Hicks is any good for Liverpool FC are idiots but that is my opinion.
