Parry asked to resign

Good news overal I think. There have been a lot of questions over his ability with transfer dealings and marketing, and more recently his belief that G&H were there better suitors for our club over DIC.

Its better done now rather than the end of the season IMO. We now have time to find a replacement before the transfer period starts. He'll have time to bed in, get to know Rafa and we will be up and running sooner rather than later. Good decision.

The letter arrived at Anfield yesterday morning

However earlier in the week on various forums there have been rumours of Parry being sacked on Thursday

So who leaked that news

Parry?
The Hicks camp?
Mystic Meg?

I'm sure the Daily Post has already said it came from the Hicks family.

He's going nowhere, because Hicks reasons for this are based on ALLIANCES in the boardroom, NOT on Parrys performance. IMO.

Can someone explain how things work with regard to decision making at boardroom level.

If ther are 2 factions within the board in in this example Hicks and Hicks Jr against Gillet, Gillet Jr, Parry and Moores. How are proposals decided? With the 50 owners on differing sides will the backing of the others be enough to force things through or will Hicks be able to veto everything.

I would he happy enough with Hicks if he actually had the cash and I knew he wouldnt strip the club bare. Unfortunately he doesnt and the only way we will be able to move on is if DIC buy us. I would prefer this to drag on for another 6 months and DIC to get the club than Hicks to get full control now.

Is it bad news though, do we know, i'd like to hear that all the members of the board, less the HICKS OBVIOUSLY, have decided to band together & challenge Hicks in the High Court, or some such legal/business tribunal.

I'm dreaming i know but hey, what else is there left to do.

Parry was just live on sky, saying how his family found out about the letter on TV news, & how that said something about how it was done, not nice, & how the story this week should have been THE TEAM & the achievements ON the pitch.

PS. I admit i have to Agree with Parry on his above comments.

Yeah, Rafa really sounded pissed when announcing he ALREADY had a player signed. NOT !!

We havent paid for him and he hasnt signed a contract. So thats not really signed now is it.

Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry has vowed to continue in his job, despite being asked to resign by co-owner Tom Hicks.

Hicks has written a letter to Parry calling for him to step down from his position as the boardroom battle at Anfield took another twist on Thursday.

Hicks is understood to be unhappy at the commercial performance of the club under Parry's stewardship and the American tycoon also claims that Rafa Benitez believes a lack of communication from Parry has allowed big-name signings to slip through the net.

Parry, who has been at Liverpool for ten years, is unhappy at how the news has come into the public light and he insists he will carry on with his job.

"Well I have not seen the letter. You guys seem to know a lot more about the letter than I do, which says something," Parry told Sky Sports News.

"My family saw it on Sky Sports, so they were delighted.

"This week I shouldn't be the story, the story should be the team. It is offensive to the manager, players and fans in a week when we had another great European triumph there is more dirty linen being washed.

"No individual, certainly not me, is bigger than the club. The club will be fine but once again it shows there is a little bit of a lack of unity at the top.

"I am just getting on with the job, there is work to do."

I don't think Hicks has evoked his first refusal rights at all. If he had then Gillett couldn't come forward and say that he would never sell to Hicks.

Based on the GG interview Hicks has only made the threat which in turn means that DIC has made no concrete offer. (Which explains the "pull out").

The only deal made was DIC making an informal offer to both owners. Gillett took it and Hicks refused which means all bets are off. DIC of course implied that both parties had to accept for the offer to stand.

I'd say it's pretty clear that the first leak came from Hicks Jnr's exchange of text messages with a 'fans group'. I'd like to know who this fans group is and what their involvement in this latest mess has been...

Hicks is trying to divide & conquer, his son sending sneaky e-mails to fans to find out if there was anything he could do to make fans like him, he hears some discontent about Parry & bang, hope people see this for what it is, a pathetic attempt to garner support.

Gillette the day before gives Ayre a dressing down over behaviour then up pops Hicks with this, what a plonker. Rumours also that Hicks has found out Parry has been working to help DIC take over.

I'm amazed if anyone REALLY believes this is to do with Parrys performance as Chief Exec, if they do they must have a screw loose.

Just look at who is & has EMBARRASSED this club with the drunken behaviour in boardrooms, THE HICKS FAMILY. Ian Ayre also going on a pissed up rant.

Hope this backfires on Hicks BIG TIME.
