Haven't heard anything about drunken boardroom squabbles, Ian Ayre etc??!
One of Hicks sons brought a load of his jock mates over to a game. They got hammered, abused the staff (called them peasants, took the piss out of their accents etc) and ended up vomiting all over the shop

Ian Ayre was overheard in Milan saying that Parry and Moores are no-marks and will soon be out of the club

"Parry, with Hicks unable to force his hand, has vowed to continue working as normal. He said: "No individual, certainly not me, is bigger than the club. The club will be fine but once again it shows there's a little bit of a lack of unity at the top. I'm just getting on the with the job."

Well whoever it is, they'd done themselves no favours allowing themselves to be involved in it.

Has Rafa been doing most of the transfer negotiating lately (remember hearing he sorted the Torres deal)?

... but couldn't Hicks do this PR-stunt to make everybody hate him - and he could like a scapegoat be 'forced' out of the club - with the only option to sell to DIC. He obviously doesn't have the power to force Parry out, so even with his 50% he is weak - and has shown it now, so that he with some sort of low-loss-of-honour (if he had anything like that) could sell.

So it's all just an RP stunt? See what I did there, how clever.

I'm away for a couple of days and find Hicks and Gillette are (effectively) fighting over Rick Parry Have I slipped into some alternative reality?

I'm guessing with Hicks and Gillette at daggers drawn Moores and Parry hold the casting votes, if Parry and Moores are on Gillettes side it's obvious Hicks will want rid so he can bring in his own people, something Gillette is going to oppose. I think whatever happens this has a long way to run and it'll be the club that suffers most!

Did'nt you hear about the behaviour at the Newcastle game, & Ian Ayres rant while pissed up at an away game i think abroad shouting about How Moores & Parry were tossers & no bodies, ( words to that effect ) also saying they would be gone soon when Hicks gets control.

Sorry, just seen someone has answered the question.

Rick Parry hits back in Anfield power struggle

Rick Parry, the Liverpool chief executive, is refusing to back down in the civil war that is engulfing Anfield, claiming that Tom Hicks' request for him to resign was 'offensive'.

Hicks wrote to Parry yesterday formally requesting his resignation from the board, citing failures in the club’s commercial strategy and problems in his relationship with Rafael Benitez, the manager. However, Parry has rebuffed Hicks' request and has increased tensions at the club by insisting that not only had he not seen the letter, but that he remains focused on 'getting on with the job'.

"I've not seen the letter," Parry said. "You guys know a lot more about the letter than I do. This week, I shouldn't be the story, the story should be the team. It's offensive to the players, the manager, the fans, in the week when we had another great European triumph there's more dirty linen being washed [in public]."

Parry, who has been chief executive at Liverpool for a decade, oversaw the takeover of the club by Hicks and George Gillett, his co-owner, last year. But since then the relationship between the pair has broken down and the future ownership of the club remains the subject of continual speculation.

Parry added: "No individual, certainly not me, is bigger than the club. The club will be fine but once again it shows there's a little bit of a lack of unity at the top. I'm just getting on the with the job."

Hicks' letter reportedly ran to three pages and is thought to have been prompted by a recent interview in which the chief executive urged the American owners to end their long-running dispute. The Texan is currently thought to be attempting to raise the finances to buy out his co-owner. However, doubts have been raised about Hicks' ability to raise the funds needed, with Gillett indicating that he would refuse to sell him his 50 per cent stake.

Dubai International Capital (DIC), the Arab investment group, remains committed to buying out the co-owners, even though Sameer al-Ansari, the company’s chief executive, suggested yesterday that he had decided to 'pull out completely' because of the problems in breaking the stalemate that exists between Hicks and Gillett.
"I watched the Champions League quarter-finals and the way they crushed Arsenal. Only the greatest and the best can play such a match.

Well in reality more or less all fans have been calling for a parry exit for years now, so it is perhaps on the contrary a move to become more popular...

This is the first time I have actually seen fans being behind Parry - guess this shows just how unpopular Hicks has become. Even when doing something fans have wanted for ages it backfires...

                            BBC's take on Parry's riposte...

Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry has hit out at owner Tom Hicks' attempts to get him to resign.

Hicks wrote a letter on Thursday calling for Parry to stand down, just two days after the club reached the Champions League semi-finalls.

Parry said he has yet to see the letter and added: "I shouldn't be the story this week.

"The story should be the team and this is offensive to the manager, players and fans."

On Tuesday, the Reds beat Arsenal to go through to the final four of the Champions League for the third time in four years.

But there was further disruption off the field in a season that has been disrupted by internal wrangling in the boardroom.

Parry added: "I haven't seen the letter so you guys know more than I which says something.

"In a week in when we've had a great European triumph we should be talking about that. It is just more dirty linen being washed in public, but no one person is bigger than the club.

"It just goes to show that there is a lack of unity at the top. I'm just getting on with my job as there is plenty of work to do."

Hicks' letter is thought to have been prompted by a recent interview in which Parry urged Hicks and fellow co-owner George Gillett to end their dispute.

Hicks is presently thought to be trying to put together a financial package to attempt to buy out his American partner.

But Gillett has said he will not sell any of his 50% share to his partner, while Dubai International Capital, which has had negotiations with both parties in the past, insists it would "still love to own" the club.

Liverpool have cancelled their weekly press briefing ahead of the game against Blackburn at the weekend.

Yeah, a year or so ago who would have thought people would have been opposed to Parry getting the push??

Have to say he is a great surviver, might be a slimy useless turd at times but seems to know who to brown nose up to in these things to keep his job. I would bet he would have been on Hicks side if he thought he would win.
