I have no time for Rick Parry but this is not the time to slate him. Its time to get behind him as he is the lesser of the two evils.

On one hand you have Parry - an incompetent a CEO as they come, hasnt really driven us into the 21st century like united, arsenal and chelsea, got zero negotiating skills as we always end up paying more for targets than they are worth and has missed out on loads, has little commercial sense and hasnt made the most of some marketing opportunities that have presented themselves ie the champions league win of 2005.

On the other you have the devils own spawn Tom Hicks. I dont normally hate people but this guy is at the top of my hit list. I really dont like him and i admit i hate his guts. he has turned us into a laughing stock (and im not talking about the yankee doodle boots cowboy boots with our branding on), he has single handedly turned this institution into a tabloid dream. All our affairs are conducted in public, he isnt a fan of football nevermind liverpool, he shouts first and thinks after.

He has admitted that we arent necessarily about winning but more about 'brand affinity' which means bollocks all. He is holding onto us for a larger sale. he wants us purely for money.

Parry wont go just because he's been asked to resign. Hell, we've all been calling for him to piss off for years and the tosser is still here. But this is the time to put aside any animosity and get behind him.

PS - If hicks wasnt in the equation and DIC had asked him to go id be cracking one off. Every point hicks has apparently made about parry is correct but i want hicks out first. the parry lynching can wait.

Thats hard for me, if I am honest.
Thats easy - both would have to go if Rafa sides with his mate 'Hicksy'.

No one is bigger than the club and if Rafa has chosen Hicks then **** him.

          Agree entirely Marshy lad

I say, for the time being at least, give Parry the chance to redeem himself. He knows full well that he ****ed up last summer, so he has a chance here to right a few wrongs. Of course he could just be turning down Hicks to keep himself in a job?, but if thats so wrong, isnt Rafa doing exactly the same thing by siding with Hicks? As much as i like Rafa, i fear that he may just be protecting his own back.I am more interested in the long term future of the club as a whole, and if DIC can give us that stability coupled with huge investment, then i would unfortunately have to side with "Coco the Clown and the GG Circus" for the short term.

I see only one workable solution for the stability of the club. HICKS MUST BUY THE CLUB.

OK I've said it... its the ONLY way this will get resolved and is better than the current siutation... why is this the only realistic route?

              1. Gillette and Hicks cant function together... this cannot go on any more. Our name is being dragged in the dirt

              2. Gillette can't buy the club.... doesnt seem to have the cash

              3. Hicks wont sell to DIC (whether we like it or not, this wont happen while Hicks is here

Its the only thing that will work, and I hate saying that. Hicks is a total w***r, the whole Parry situation is designed to get the fans on his side (he knows we dont think much of coco), he backs Rafa purely because we back him and he is trying to buy our favour. But currently we are caught in a no win sitaution and we have to go for the lesser of two evils.

              OK shoot me down.....

I tend to agree. I would rather Hicks buy's out Gillette. Atleast then we can move forward. Either then Hicks can take us forward in his own way or he could then sell up 100% to DIC. Having 2 owners doesnt work

I hate the ****er for the loans he has taken out on the club but things as they stand are not workable. We need to move on now asap

I will ask this question again

How is a man worth $1.3 billion on paper the bulk of which is leveraged going to raise enough security to bank roll the purchase of $400 million worth of shares

Thats almost 30% of his last reported wealth

Was about to suggest that Rafa would have been involved in this somewhere..

Thats the whole point though. He was in london looking for new business partners last week. I think he wants to buy a small amount of Gillettes shares to gain a controlling interest and find a new partner to take on the rest

Me too. But then why has Hicks done this in the first place and what happens next?

e.g. If Gillett refused to vote in favour of sacking Parry, could he be accused of voting based on self interest, rather than the best interests of the club/board of directors (based on the reasons for sacking Parry set out in Hicks letter?

There has to be more to it than meets the eye

I think he could probably scrape the barrell and get some mug to assist the purchase of the club. But that still leaves no stadium.

Which is the main reason we got these cunts in.

According to Jonathan Ledgard on 5live, 6 banks turned him down in London last week.
                              Oh I don't know.

haha, when Parry is involved nothing goes right, we have all been wanting Parry to go for a long time now, but the timing and manner of this is just ****.
