Rafa would be pissed, who could blame him. My point was at this point in time I have no confirmation other than speculation, mainly from sky apparantly, that Rafa has been lied to and it is infact Parry that Rafa is gunning for. Hicks has an exclusice with Sky on Wednesday remember.Originally posted by homer1 View PostRafa will have a problem with Parry if Parry a) told him he wasn't there or b) intimated he knew nothing about it at the time as either way he will have been lied to blatantly
Rafa is a proud man and if he has been lied to then it's another reason / excuse for him to go as his position is further undermined and being made more & more untenable all the time.
In other words i am not jumping to conclusions based on what Sky are telling us or anyone else. I am waiting for Rafa's response.
Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

I saw quotes from Rafa saying he was surprised at who was at the meeting which could only be Parry as he knew about G&T and would have assumed their ****ebag offspring would have been present - would indicate he didn't know about Parry's involvement which I indicates he either assumed he wasn't there or was told he wasn't there
I suppose we'll have to wait for the next drama to unfold on Wednesday but this is appalling to say the leastAt a football club there's a holy trinity- the players the manager and the supporters, Directors dont come into it, they are only there to sign the cheques " - Bill Shankly

I agree. Expect Rafa to start calling the shots over transfers which was what he originally wanted and which caused Hicks to slap him down in November last yearOriginally posted by El Jefecito View PostRafa won't walk. If he was going to do that it would have been when he found out about Kilnsmann.
He'll be looking to use this as an opportunity to entrench/enhance his position and power."I watched the Champions League quarter-finals and the way they crushed Arsenal. Only the greatest and the best can play such a match.

Hope he does call the shots & get the players, but not at the long term cost of this club. Anyway Hicks reaction to Rafa last time as you describe above, is the likely result of a Hicks ownership, & how he would deal with insubordination from a manager.

ANFIELD IN CRISIS: Rafa refuses to decide on his Liverpool future as Parry pleads for talks
Last updated at 15:18pm on 14th April 2008
Rafael Benitez will decide on his Liverpool future once the Champions League campaign is over as club chief executive Rick Parry signalled he wants to clear the air with the Reds manager.
Benitez has expressed his shock after learning that Parry was present when American co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett met Jurgen Klinsmann in November.
Waiting game: Shocked Benitez will make a decision at the end of the season
Anfield's owners fight for control: Liverpool at breaking point as Hicks wants to force out Parry
Former Liverpool chairman Moores 'heartbroken' and 'let down' by American owners
Anfield crisis deepens as it emerges Hicks met Klinsmann twice to discuss the German replacing Benitez
The Spaniard is as close as he has ever been to quitting Liverpool but he is adamant he wants to target a second European Cup triumph before making any decisions.
The relationship between Parry and Benitez has been under strain for months, but now the chief executive is ready to meet the manager and explain that he only attended the infamous meeting with Klinsmann under instruction from the Americans.
Parry said: "I am more than happy to sit down and talk to Rafa about this."
Those close to the chief executive say he only attended the meeting in New York after being told to do so by Hicks and Gillett, and he was acutely aware of how unsettling it would be for the club if news of it leaked out - as it eventually did via Hicks.
Parry now wants to clear the air with Benitez. Meanwhile there have been reports that Hicks held a follow-up meeting with the former Germany manager at his holiday home in California. According to the Liverpool Echo, Parry was not present at the second meeting.
Furthermore, it is understood that Hicks has continued to maintain some links with Klinsmann's advisers.
The latest developments in the Anfield power struggle were sparked by Hicks' demand for Parry to resign last week - he has refused to do so as he has the backing of Gillett and former chairman David Moores.
Meetings: Parry took part in meetings with Klinsmann
There is widespread unhappiness that the row continues to deflect attention away from Liverpool's performance on the pitch - they are now close to securing the fourth Champions League slot for next season and are in the semi-finals of this season's competition, where they will face Chelsea.
Everyone at the club is also adamant that they do not want any in-fighting to overshadow tomorrow's memorial service to mark the 19th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster.
Benitez and Parry will both be present along with all the players and around 3,000 fans to remember the 96 Liverpool supporters who were killed during a crush at Hillsborough in 1989.
Neither Hicks nor Gillett are expected to be there, and is still no sign of either co-owner giving way and agreeing a sell-out to the other, or to Dubai International Capital who continue to wait in the wings.Reece, get off my wife.:whatever:

I have a bad feeling that Rafa is going to walk at the end of the season and who could blame him, the way he is being treated. Our club is a shambles at the moment and I am sick of it. Too much ****e going on and if Rafa does quit it will be an absolute shame to loose one of the best managers in world football at the moment. There will be a line of clubs queuing up to get his signature and I tell you there won't be a queue of new managers at Anfield for the Liverpool job with the state of the club at the moment.
WE CAN NOT LOOSE RAFA!!!

Hope we are right
