Who are our two centre backs next season ?

After x amount of games this season with Carra at RB, Sami starting, Skrtel slotting straight in and Agger on the physio bench.

Whats actually our first choice CB pairing 1st game next season assuming everyone is fit ?

There won't be one pairing ... Rafa will rotate them quite a lot imo.

But on the issue of centre-backs, I was thinking yesterday that Agger and Skrtel are going to be formidable for us in a couple of years. They are both young, quick, strong, good in the air, good tacklers, good on the ball.

Carragher is our best defender, so him and one other.

But that is only at present. It all comes down to who is fit and in form. But it's noticable at the back when ever Carra doesn't play in the back 4.
      Forwards.......

Agger and Skrtel if Carra don't improve his form and Agger can get back to 100% again.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Our defence looks a bit lost without Carragher. Even though Skrtel and Agger are "better" all around defenders on paper, Carragher is a leader and a fantastic organizer whose influence is missing when he's not there. We're much more solid when he's on the pitch, whether he's a CB or a RB. Skrtel and Agger will be our future and they can fit in well together, but Carragher will still be our 1st choice in the next couple of years.

Hyypia should used on special occasions but not as first choice next season, that is obvious. Still fantastic in the right game.

So the question is Agger or Skrtel to partner Carragher and it doesn't really need a decisive answer. Every top team needs 3 CB's who can play every game, because injuries and suspensions will see that everyone gets their chance. If Agger is fit and 100%, I prefer him over Skrtel, because he's better on the ball (Skrtel is pretty good yet not as good), so he compliments Carragher a bit better.

Skrtel & Agger is the future, reckon Carra will be a bit part player within 2 seasons.....

Carragher is the leader in the back four as has already been said. Although he has played a number of games at right back, these have mostly been down to injuries at full back and the fact we are strong at centre back. I believe that had it not been for these injuries Carragher would have played at centre back all season.

Next season I would assume we will have signed a new right back and Carragher will be moved to back to centre back and either Agger or Skertel will play along side him.

Although there is likely to be quite a bit of rotation, but we need to see which one of Skertel or Agger will become the organiser of the back 4 when Carragher isn't there
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Only an idiot rotates his centre halves (on a regular basis), I'm hoping Rafa is not an idiot. It should be carra with Skittles and Agger battling it out to be beside him. For the odd game where we need to snuff out some extraattacking talent, he will play carra on the right again..

                      352 for me or 343

when its 352 i can see the 5 being aurelio, masch, alonso, gerrard and our new attacking full back with torres and babel/new striker upfront.

New right back, any 2 from 3 and a new left back

I've been really impressed with Skrtel overall I think he's going to be great but there's no denying that he needs to be worked on. He's prone to making some bad errors. So far they haven't been overly costly but there have been some bad ones. Carra, Reina and Sami have bailed him out a few times. The one that sticks out is that Ibra one against Inter where he practically gave him a free goal, luckily he missed.

I think Carra will start reverting back to his old RB role. The future is Agger and Skrtle.

                              Carra and Skittles.

Dare I say it, Agger could even be used as an emergency holding midfielder.
