We don't. 3rd and 4th get the same cut. 1st gets 40%, 2nd gets 30%, the rest get 15%.

My understanding is that only 2 english clubs can go straight into the group stages - which would mean Chelsea WOULD have to play a qualifier...that's if my understanding is correct.

Your payment structure above is correct IIRC and remains. However if we finish 4th and win this years comp we along with the PL champs go straight to the main draw. 2nd and 3rd will go into the 3rd round qualifiers.

This all changes next year though I believe, or they were atleast looking at it.
