So if we win the CL, do we go in as the 1st placed team then?

If we finish 3rd or 4th, we'll have to play a stupid qualifier, whereas if we win the CL, we wont - i'm pretty sure that's true.Originally posted by fredo View PostIt's irrelevant because we'll be seeded and automatically qualified.
So winning it would make a difference from that point of view, if nothing else.

Welcome back DJS
now, behave yourself this time
The only difference between third and fourth is the prize money in the league and next seasons % of the CL money.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Pretty sure your right there DJ. When they fixed the rules up (Originally posted by DJS View PostIf we finish 3rd or 4th, we'll have to play a stupid qualifier, whereas if we win the CL, we wont - i'm pretty sure that's true.

) I am fairly certain part of it said the winners go in as 1st qualifier. Therefore whoever finishes 2nd or 3rd plays the qualifiers.
Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

I don't think that it will affect the qualifiers from our league. Chelsea won't be made to play a qualifier for instance if we were to win the cup. I think the way they do it is to make the lowest ranked automatic qualifier (one that would go straight into the group stage) play in the preliminary round instead of the winner. This team will probably be from one of the lower ranked leagues such as ScotlandOriginally posted by Skillz View PostPretty sure your right there DJ. When they fixed the rules up (

My understanding is that only 2 english clubs can go straight into the group stages - which would mean Chelsea WOULD have to play a qualifier...that's if my understanding is correct.Originally posted by MindGuerrillas View PostI don't think that it will affect the qualifiers from our league. Your payment structure above is correct IIRC and remains. However if we finish 4th and win this years comp we along with the PL champs go straight to the main draw. 2nd and 3rd will go into the 3rd round qualifiers.Originally posted by MindGuerrillas View PostI don't think that it will affect the qualifiers from our league.
