Gerrard didn't look for a pen. What could have happened if he stayed on his feet? He could have been injured, who knows?

The important point is that Gerrard didn't look for a pen and that means that even if he dived then it's nothing to argue about if it's a pen or not.

To dive looking for a pen and dive to avoid being hit by another player in this case Freidel is two different things.

It would have been different if he had protested a lot after the incident like Ronaldo do all the time but he didn't.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

When players need to avoid another player in this situation the jump. They dont leave their legs in their and then go down. IMHO your heart is talking, not your brain.

Dopey Graham Poll slur on Gerrard

Anyone else heard Graham Poll accusing Steven Gerrard as being the "best" diver in the Premiership. What absolute garbage without doubt these are the Kings of the perfect diving technique:

          1. Ronaldo
          2. Joe Cole
          3. Didier Drogba

The other dope with Poll, Eamon Holmes (a bandwagon jumper and Manure fan) agreed with him, what a pratt. We have had to endure some terrible referee's at Anfield in particular Stiles and Wiley but at least they have never awarded 3 yellow cards to any one of our players. Sod off Poll you are a worse pundit/ so called expert than you were a ref.

Wouldnt say he`s the best diver, but he is a diver. Wouldnt be so bad if he didnt do the same things everytime, dragging the leg and the out stretched arms... I cringe everytime he is in the oppositions penalty area.

Depends on what he means by best.

rose tainted glasses? he went down looking for a pen, he decided it before and you can see it on how he played it, he was trying to trap the keeper and try to "make" the keeper foul him, he wasn't trying to avoid injury, thats just naive to think that. and on another note if you jump up from a tackle or are trying to protect yourself from a reckless tackle then that is a foul. only reason gerrard didn't appeal for a pen was cause he knew he cheated.

you can argue if it was a peno or not or if gerrard dived or not, but one thing is sure he went looking for a pen, and his mind was on getting a pen and not the ball...
