Thats the reason I guess hicks is hell bent on not allowing DIC to buy GGs shares. He knows with the board power DIC will control day to day operations of the club.Originally posted by pezzzer View Postif gg wont sell to hicks then why havent dic come in then? there guarenteed a 4-2 board vote on everything they do so the'yd effectively run the club there way anayway so why have they walked away, sorry, moved back?

There isn't a case for Hicks so why bother to find one?Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I dont think i'd read anything into the fact that they've not gone public with their 'support' of Rafa, why should they? They dont actually own any single piece of LFC so i dont see why they'd come out in support of Rafa or anyone else. It's not their style to talk about stuff that's technically not any of their business, they're not (yet) in a position whereby any support of Rafa would mean anything or carry any weight, so them not making it public is unsurprising.
One year extensions are par for the course in US sports, as far as i know. But then, this isnt the US. I dont like it either.
And who said i'm 'happy', that's a bit of a silly comment. I'm far from happy.
I was well pissed last night and agree it was a silly comment.
I have thought about this today and have revised my thoughts. Hicks is being a ****** (pretty obvious, I know) by saying he would give Rafa an extension. This is purely to garner support and he is now trying to make it appear the other board members do not want to keep Rafa.
This may or may not be true but if he was confident that they wouldn't vote for an extension of Rafa's contract why not put it to the vote now?
Hicks is a truly vile person and I hope gets what he deserves.Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

Nah he isnt and wont be. If he was then why is he coming out and asking Parry to **** off?
Parry has a seat on the board. If Hicks was about to take over then he'd wait, then before the ink is dry on the contract, tell Parry to **** off.
If he isnt going to have control of the board room then the only way to get it is to get rid of Parry before GG shifts his shares on to someone else. Then he'll have half the board controled to make life awkward for DIC or whoever for aslong as it takes for him to get the money to buy them out.
Summing up, Hicks knows he is onborrowed time and needs to get control or he will be forced out and not the other way around.

makes a good lot of sense that. i still think hicks has the cash tho but the fact is that gg now won't accept his bid. I think gg saying th has had enough time yet the 90 period isnt over means that hicks has the ability to push it through i think. so th is building a case against gg to claim he's unfairly prevented him from taking over and has schemed with other members of the board etc etc.Originally posted by The Glove View PostYes, yes he is.

its all about that 'then the record will be clear' statement?
this is going through the courts in May unless one of them blinks first (or an improved offer from dic to gloriously prevent the club being dragged through the courts...? if i were a betting man, 'do think gg is more likely to cut and run than th as cash is cash isnt it. No wonder DIC have stepped back.
fook it, its all a conspiracy and dic have orchestrated it all and we are just watcing a pantomime play out. TH & GG are desperate to sell and have accepted an offer. parry and rafa are going to be sacked on the order of DIC. this is all agreed. it emerged a while back, DIC want all the dirty work done before they come in as they won't sack rafa or parry as it will make them unpopular.
So th sides with rafa - so we as fans accept that to get rid of the evil hicks, rafa will have to go. this is happening. gg sides with parry which, in all honesty, isnt a drama for us fans but they play the opposing side of the argument in the pantomime.
may is a mighty convenient time for all this to blow up immediately before the case gets to court isnt it. rafa gone at the end of the season, parry sacked and DIC come in like knights in shining armour with an upped bid to save the club they love being dragged through the courts. all in time to prepare fully for next season...
in come mourinho and some decent execs and on we go with the stadium and some signings. 2008-2009 is the season lfc become champions and the rest is all history...
you heard it here first...
anyway, i spent so long yesterday thinking through hicks and his plans and his currrent stance that today i don't care any more. they are all tw@ts all 4 of them. all i care about is the team and the results and for now no more. screw them all.Last edited by barnes10; 18-04-08, 12:48 PM.
