The Case FOR Hicks

He was brought in by Gillett because he had the money for 50%.Originally posted by barnes10 View Posthow do you know that he hasnt the money? he was brought in because he does have the money no?
He hasn't got the cash now to buy out Gillett which is why there is the problem because he is looking to pay less that what DIC has offered Gillett for his money.
In addition to this, buying the club is one thing, running it is something different entirely.
We need somebody to buy the club and then have the money for transfers and the new ground, etc.
I do however agree with Hicks about Parry though. He may be a cock but he sure knows one too.Twin boys - now arriving late August 2008.
Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!

I can list you a whole load of reasons why I don't like him
1. Uses the Hate Mail as his mouthpiece
2. Uses Sky Sports as his mouthpiece - On the anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster
3. Day after we beat Arsenal he asks for Parry to quit - Taking away from the players achievements
4. He's a liar who spoke to Klinsmann...now doesn't like the reaction and says it wasn't his idea and he didn't even know who he was.
5. Talks about the ineptitude of Parry. How about this...makes a big fanfare for a new stadium then realises he hasn't the money and embarassingly scales down the design
6. He's a useless lying ****er
I couldn't find 6 reasons for disliking Moores. The only thing was he was a bad businessman
So let's not keep going back to DIC. This ain't about DIC. It's about Hicks and I'm sorry...he just ain't good enough and he's a compulsive liar
I knew i shouldn't have taken you off ignore.

The credit crunch means rates are higher than they have been for a long time. That is bad timing, but there is no choice.
If enhanced profits cover the interest payments, and allow for the required investment in the squad, that is a good thing, no?Sorry to be pedantic, but haven't actually answered my question.Originally posted by DJS View PostThe interest levels will also depend on your financial status. Firstly DIC wouldnt need to borrow as much and if they did, they'd get better interest rates. It's all costing us more under Hicks and that's before we even discuss whether he's able to service the debt...Oh I don't know.

this is what i used to say but the more i think about things, the more i realise its all bollox, spun, rumour, internet frenzy and based on very, very little factual evidence.Originally posted by andyinswinton View PostHe was brought in by Gillett because he had the money for 50%. if he has money for 50% he would have money for more too no? he doesnt just have money for exactly 50%
He hasn't got the cash now to buy out Gillett which is why there is the problem because he is looking to pay less that what DIC has offered Gillett for his money. do you know this as fact- that he is looking to pay below DIC's offer? i thought he was forcing gilette's hand because gg says he'll never sell to him under any circumstances
In addition to this, buying the club is one thing, running it is something different entirely. the club is poorly run, so commercialising it will improve this no?
We need somebody to buy the club and then have the money for transfers and the new ground, etc. have money and gift it to us? or have the ability to raise it and inject the odd bit of captial where required to seal a deal?
I do however agree with Hicks about Parry though. He may be a cock but he sure knows one too.
loads of opinions out there, mostly against hicks. but the fact is, he's never been sole owner so has never been able to act alone and we've not been able to see the colour of his money. that is pretty important before we dismiss him no?
i havent fallen for the spin, i just feel like im firefighting for a rational view on things so am constantly coming up with alternative interpretations to the general view that he's just out to screw us...

All I know about him is how he has acted in the last year or so and how he has managed other sports teams. Both of these have made me want to see the back of him. I have no doubt he promised the same things to the other clubs he has owned and the their fans seem to hate the ground he walks on.Originally posted by barnes10 View Postloads of opinions out there, mostly against hicks. but the fact is, he's never been sole owner so has never been able to act alone and we've not been able to see the colour of his money. that is pretty important before we dismiss him no?
I dont know if DIC would be any better but at least they seem to invest a lot of money into their projects while Hicks seems happy to let his teams rot as long as he makes money out of it.
Well with Hicks wanting to offer Rafa a new contract we will see if Gillett/ DIC really do want to replace him at the end of the season.

A lot of what Hicks has said (and done) is good for the club however he's not doing it for the right reasons.
We all knew Parry was inept at his job and Hicks has done a lot of work behind the scenes putting Parry's work right regarding the commercial side of the club. He's also done a far better job regarding the stadium. However he's not done this for the best of the club but to make him as much money as possible.
He has recently and will (at least in the near future) support Rafa on and off the pitch. Again this isn't becaue of his love for the club but because he knows if he doesn't he has no chance of 'winning back the fans'.
