Waste of a thread this, as there simply is no case FOR Hicks. They all need to go & let DIC get on with making a success of this great club. Hicks is a transparent habitual teller of lies, Who will do/say anything to get his own way & his $$.
ffs he has even resorted to telling us the fans, the same ****e story he told Parry & Moores when they agreed to sell the club, promises he has no intention of keeping, bloody hell we already have the evidence in front of us, the debt on the club which was promised not to be put there, now..NOW he tells us oh er...i'll take it all away, never do it again, I promise, failing to mention he wanted the lot put on the club.
The man is obviously bad for us, dangerous to us, he needs to go.

This is my take on the situation currentlyOriginally posted by barnes10 View Postmakes a good lot of sense that. i still think hicks has the cash tho but the fact is that gg now won't accept his bid. I think gg saying th has had enough time yet the 90 period isnt over means that hicks has the ability to push it through i think. so th is building a case against gg to claim he's unfairly prevented him from taking over and has schemed with other members of the board etc etc.
its all about that 'then the record will be clear' statement?
this is going through the courts in May unless one of them blinks first (or an improved offer from dic to gloriously prevent the club being dragged through the courts...? if i were a betting man, 'do think gg is more likely to cut and run than th as cash is cash isnt it. No wonder DIC have stepped back.
fook it, its all a conspiracy and dic have orchestrated it all and we are just watcing a pantomime play out. TH & GG are desperate to sell and have accepted an offer. parry and rafa are going to be sacked on the order of DIC. this is all agreed. it emerged a while back, DIC want all the dirty work done before they come in as they won't sack rafa or parry as it will make them unpopular.
So th sides with rafa - so we as fans accept that to get rid of the evil hicks, rafa will have to go. this is happening. gg sides with parry which, in all honesty, isnt a drama for us fans but they play the opposing side of the argument in the pantomime.
may is a mighty convenient time for all this to blow up immediately before the case gets to court isnt it. rafa gone at the end of the season, parry sacked and DIC come in like knights in shining armour with an upped bid to save the club they love being dragged through the courts. all in time to prepare fully for next season...
in come mourinho and some decent execs and on we go with the stadium and some signings. 2008-2009 is the season lfc become champions and the rest is all history...
you heard it here first...
anyway, i spent so long yesterday thinking through hicks and his plans and his currrent stance that today i don't care any more. they are all tw@ts all 4 of them. all i care about is the team and the results and for now no more. screw them all.
There are pre-emption rights
There is a time limit on it, hence Hicks' attempts to raise the finance
Which I dont think he will be able to do
Hicks calling for Parry's resignation and to try and wrestle control of the board is a pre-emptive strike in case he doesnt find the funds and Gillett sells to DIC
As things stand today Hicks would be outvoted at board level so at the very least he'd want to put that into a balanced situation (at club level its currently 4-2)
I think Hicks fears a partnership with DIC (and rightly so) because my belief is that if the partnership continued to the next round of refinancing they would ask for the debt to be removed from the club (which would mean Hicks getting more loans) and the stadium debt they would also not place on the club they would finance it through loans through their own avenues and ask Hicks to do the same
All this would be designed to get Hicks to reduce his equity
Hicks knows this imo its why hes fighting tooth and nail to stop it happening
I actually think if DIC get 50% Hicks will sell up soon after, as he would have no control and would have to fight and spend money to even stay in the game
Finally for the record from what I have heard Rafa is part of DIC's plans always has beenBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Which is why If DIC manage to set foot on the liverpool board, Hicks will sell ASAP. Coz Hicks knows DIC can play a war of attrition and gain hicks shares at a much lower price once they set in by voting against all of Hicks plans. It might be in the best interest of Hicks to sell ASAP if he looses the veto power over GG shares.

YANKS GOING HOME - GILLETT CUTS A DEAL
Tom Hicks and George Gillett: Torn apart
Saturday April 19,2008
By Harry Harris
Liverpool’s warring American owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett could both be out of the club by the summer.
Gillett has secretly agreed to sell his half stake in Liverpool to Dubai Investment Capital for a profit of £60million. And once that deal is done, it will trigger a plan to squeeze out Hicks, according to reliable City sources.
I understand the English section of the Anfield boardroom, chief executive Rick Parry and former chairman David Moores, will approve the new takeover strategy.
Hicks insists that Gillett cannot sell to anyone other than him, but the Daily Express has learnt that is not the whole story and instead he could almost certainly be following his one-time friend out of Anfield.
And a game-plan is already in place to squeeze out Tom Hicks, giving DIC total control of the Anfield club and so end the internal war that is currently tearing Liverpool apart. The American duo could both be gone by June.
The ink is not on the paper but it will be a major surprise if he doesn’t sell now.
Expect knee-jerk denials but the Express has been told by reliable contacts of the ‘deal’ that will soon kick in – and that the ‘English’ section of the Liverpool board, led by chief executive Rick Parry and former chairman David Moores, will approve the new takeover strategy.
My City source tells me: “George Gillett has been made a handsome offer from DIC which will yield him a substantial profit.
The ink is not on the paper but it will be a major surprise if he doesn’t sell now.
“There is a pre-emptive rights agreement in place – as Tom Hicks has been saying – that Gillett cannot sell to anyone other than him. But this is not strictly the case. The first-refusal option lasts 90 days and Gillett effectively set the wheels in motion at the end of February and the first-refusal rights expire at the end of May. Then we expect Gillett to sell his 50 per cent Liverpool stake to DIC for £60m and then Hicks has a big problem. DIC will raise the money for the new Anfield stadium and Hicks will be liable for a proportion of that debt, and if he cannot raise it, then there will be measures put in place to dilute his holding.
“Expect the board to call for a new share issue, and Hicks will need to put up substantial sums to maintain his 50 per cent share.
“The only alternative is for Hicks to somehow raise a huge amount of money to buy out Gillett, but there is no sign of it happening. And it won’t happen.
“We know of a dozen institutions Hicks has been talking to and none is prepared to help him raise any money in today’s credit climate.
Hicks is being hit hard at a time when the banks are just not handing out loans any more.”
Liverpool carry debts of £350m so Gillett carries £175m of that. And with DIC prepared to offer £60m for Gillett’s stake it values his deal at £235m and the club as a whole at £470m.
Hicks has called for Parry’s resignation but I understand that Parry will play an integral role in the new Liverpool set-up under DIC.
Hicks was furious with Parry, who attempted to stop loans taken out by the Americans being loaded on to the club’s debt.
Parry succeeded only for the pair to have the loans assigned to their company Kop Football Holdings – which is the parent company of the football club anyway. So the debt saddled to the club remains.
Liverpool fans have grown suspicious of overseas owners but DIC’s pledge to finance the new stadium will play a major part in winning over a sceptical publicBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Oh dearOriginally posted by Harry HarrisHicks has called for Parry’s resignation but I understand that Parry will play an integral role in the new Liverpool set-up under DIC.
I have to say I suspect that article of being mostly supposition and guesswork. Possibly good supposition and guesswork, but still.........I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?
