    The sky rotation theory

If you say it enough times, maybe it will become true.

    Torres ready for biggest test
    Striker relishing Euro showdown
By Chris Burton Last updated: 20th April 2008

    Torres: Feeling fine

Fernando Torres has admitted that reaching the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League with Liverpool represents the pinnacle of his career.

The Reds are due to take on Chelsea in the first leg of their last four contest on Tuesday, and Torres feels that the games against the Blues are the biggest he has ever been involved in.

The Spanish striker will once again carry the weight of expectation in front of goal for the Reds at Anfield, but having already notched on 30 occasions this season he insists that he does feel under any added pressure.

    Confidence

"The emotion I felt after the Arsenal game (in the quarter-finals) was very, very strong. I have never felt like that before," Torres told the News of the World.

"I was almost in tears at the end of the match when they crowd were singing.

"If that was a quarter-final, I can't imagine what it will be like playing Chelsea.

"Without doubt, these are the biggest matches of my career.

"I know football means so much and can give everyone strong feelings but it's still a new experience for me.

"I scored my first important Liverpool goal against Chelsea, and I want to do it again on Tuesday.

"That goal gave me confidence to believe I could score in the big matches."

    Fresh

Much has been made of Rafael Benitez's early season rotation which saw Torres frequently left out of the side.

However, the Spaniard believes that the rest has allowed him to remain fresh until the end of the current campaign. let's, however, ignore the fact that Torres says nothing of the sort

"People ask me if I am getting tired now because I am coming to the end of my first season in England," he said.

"Of course it is a hard league but I do not feel tired at all.

"When you are scoring goals and the team is winning games, you have more energy.

"It is only when the team is struggling and you are not playing well or scoring goals, that you don't feel your best.

"My legs are in good shape and my heart is ready for the matches to come."

Incredibly with the massive amount of rotation Rafa decided on with Torres, the Spaniard has only managed 31 league game. Whereas, Sir Alex, who would never dream of leaving Ronaldo out his side, has played his star player a whopping 31 times in the league. If only Rafa had given Torres 31 games, as opposed to the 31 games Ronaldo was given, things would have been so different in the league this season.

Good stat, which should be carved into the foreheads of all the Sky cockends.

I noticed them having a sly chuckle to themsleves about the team we were gonna play vs BRum next week. Never mind the fact our ressies dicked Fulham yesterday. Of course, had Scum or the Chavs done the same, they'd all be wanking over their "squad strength" & the Gonners over Wengers "transfer genius" & amazing youth policy.

MY missus was lterally screaming at the telly this morning when they were going on about Scum being European giants & saying everyone wanted a Barca v Scum final, whilst completely ignoring our Euro status.

I hope Rafa rams their own bull**** down their ****ing throats with number 6.
          3rd place. Worst champions ever.

I think that our actual reserve team could beat Birmingham at the minute. They've just been whacked by Villa 5-1 and look utterly shocking.

It's another pundit/reporter's easy job, two sticks the can beat Liverpool with Rotation and Zonal marking, if they need a story about us they just wheel one of those two out. No need to research facts or anything silly like that, they can knock one of those stories out in half an hour
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Torres has been 'rotated' four times in the season. One was because he was recovering from injury and even then he scored (against Fulham at home)
