As we saw at Blackburn, anything can happen.

And Wigan will be fighting for their lives.

They have, but you wouldnt bet on it would you?

It's desperate hope rather than realistic expectation.

Wigan will be safe by then. That's if you dont think they're already safe now - and for what it's worth, i do.

West Ham have nothing to play for now. I'm not expecting anything from them. It would have to be a poor Utd side to not beat WHU at home.

Wigan on the other hand, with that ****ty ground, if they were in the relegation dog fight might have to still put up a fight. Not holding anything there with bent nose doing whisky nose a favour last Monday.

There's more hope of Wigan getting a draw than WHU getting anything at OT.

However, Wigan are basically already safe NOW, let alone by the last day of the season.

Man Utd will twonk them and take the title

And in any case, Chelsea beating the mancs isnt a given.

I think Chelsea will get a draw at home. Scum will play for one.

I think there are two main differences in this set of encounetrs apart from the obvious being at home in the first leg.

The Utd vs Chelsea match has a massive significance now so in the middle they have a vital game which they must go all out to win.

Torres is a better goalscoring threat than any of the strikers we have had in our other encounters, whilst he hasnt scored that many away from home, he socred in Milan Our style is very conducive to the counter attack and so it makes us a realistic threat in the away leg, but we need to do the biz at home
                  Quit your jibber jabber!!!

Jermaine, you know the song Billie Jean...is it about the tennis player??

Away first, I would put good money on us going through. I'm not sure about this one. 1st leg just won't have the intensity of the 2nd and takes away some of the benefits of the home atmosphere.

Lets not forget we've beaten some pretty good teams playing home first:

                      Juventus
                      Inter Milan

We also beat Leverkusen, so we can certainly do it.

I just hope we arent backs to the walls at their place too much as we wont have such an amazing atmosphere (though im confifdent our away fans will do us proud).

Of course, we didnt have Torres the last two times and thats a huge plus. When you factor in the unrest in the Chavs camp too, maybe that goes in our favor as well. Its hard as hell to score at their place and they have that record of being unbeaten there forever. I think we just have to make sure that either

                          a) they dont get an away goal to start with and/or
                          b) that if they do get one at our place that we get at least 2.

Wouldnt fancy a score draw of any kind in leg 1 although a 0-0 wouldnt be the worst result in the world. Of course a nice 2-0 would set us up perfectly
                          heres my view:

in general terms its better to have the home leg 1st

Its only because of the exceptional anfield atmosphere that teams fear coming here - even when they are a goal ahead from the 1st leg.

if we get to the bridge with a 0-0 or win to nil, id make us good favourites.
In a game as close as us v the chavs, the extra 30 mins on their field represents an extra chance to get the away goal as much as anything.

weve turned over juve, inter and others playing at home 1st. whats to fear in a team we are better than and mentally stronger than?
