No, i would expect Rafa to say nothing, no club had been linked to Owen, he was not asked about Liverpool at all, he decided to bring it up, & say moving to say Liverpool OR Man City wouldn't be a step up, but a sideways step, come on Liverpool or Man City, if he had compared Newcastle to Us would be bad enough, but to put City, Newcastle & Us in the same bracket is laughable, even if he's sucking up. He just looks idiotic, That's the point, suck up to the fans by all means, but do it with a hint of credibility ffs.Originally posted by Scratch View Post**** me, you lot get your knickers in a twist over nothing. Keegan is manager of Newcastle. He's hardly likely to say, "actually, we are not a big club, and if Owen left us for a real club who could offer him glory and trophies, I, as manager of the club, would fully understand, cos as i said earlier, we're only a small club in the North-East of England"
Absolutely nothing wrong with Keegan's comments. Unless you'd expect Rafa to come out with a comment like "We understand Steven's desire to join United, as he has a better chance of realising his dream of winning the PL with them..."

their fans are the biggest bunch of fakers about, even more than the Chavs. They desert the club at the first sign of trouble and as soon as they win one match they are back like a shot.Originally posted by BFG View PostAny Geordie would say the same mate, they genuinely believe that they are among the biggest clubs in the world.

After 14 out of 19 home games this season (ie before things picked up for Newcastle over the past couple of games) Newcastles average attendance this season was 51087, out of a capacity of 52387.
Deserting the club? Don't think so Parm.

and deserting them, mate they give it the large they supported the team through thick and thin, but go back to when Keegan first took over and the place was half empty. They arent as supportive as they would have you believe.

Suppose Keegan knows this, he most likely knew when he made a daft remark like Man City, Newcastle & Liverpool being on the same level, the Geordies would believe him.Originally posted by Nic83 View PostNah, just loud and deluded. And they don't know too much about footy either generally, the way they treated Sam Allardyce was a disgrace. Thye think he should be ****ing superman or something.
