They've been far better, but they've had far better players on the pitch. Much improved in the second half. Good recovery by Ayala after a shaky start.

No doubt he will play more games next season as San Jose looks ready to go on loan to a decent club.

I think this lad could make the grade at LFC with a bit more composure. He's like a small version of Gerrard. Bundles of energy, snappy in the tackle, good shot on him and decent passer.

Trys the "Gerrard" ball a bit to often, but the lad has got the lot. He just lacks composure at times. I would play him in a league game to see if he could step up. I think he has the mentality to progress on loan too. Lad has a real winners mentality and is versatile. Well worth the effort.

Is this new rule confirmed? I haven't heard anything about it, except an interview with Rafa where he said he would prefer 7 to 5 substitutes, but that was quite some time ago.

That is a good point. What if Reina is injured just before the final?

I think he's always done that - hardly ever remember Carson playing for reserves either. Suppose the reserve games seem to be played day before / after first team games and he would have to be with first team squad in case of injury to Pepe but I agree it has to beneficial for him to play more games

Ablett's charter is to develop players, not necessarily win. So I'm sure he thinks it more important to get Martin et al ready for the first team.

I'm sure Itandje gets plenty of practice during training....against Torres. :-)

I get the impression that after the Barnsley game, Rafa has lost confidence in Itandje. Which is why i dont think he will be with us next season. Otherwise i think he would have played against Fulham on saturday.

Im have been concerned now for some time that we have a no2 who never gets a game and was extremely unsteady against barnsley last time out. Training practice cant be enough, you need match practice and match situations

My mate is Gen Mgr of Sir Thomas Hotel, he told me the monday after the Barnsley game that charlie was pissed in their bar til 3.30 am the morning of the match. Apparently he told Carra on the sunday and has heard that charlie won't be here next season.
