    Anyway, back to the football.
Thought we made the chavs look very poor tonight and I can see us going through next week. All we need now is a Barca win tommorow and next week and number 6 will be coming home. AGAIN.

It's going to be third time lucky for Chelsea, our record is horrible at the Bridge.

It's been a hell of a ride once again but this is where it ends i really am sorry to say.

Cmon Marky wheres yor spirit. If we (the fans) throw in the towel at halftime how can we expect the team to go to the bridge next week and get a result!! we all need to rally behind the boys. I thought the chaves were poor tonight. They defended well at times but resorted to long balls up to drogba all night. They have a win or bust game this weekend against the mancs and we can rest everyone. WE ALL HAVE TO BELIEVE IT IS STILL POSSIBLE

What a result tonight, we deserved way better than this, and unfortunatly it all comes down to us ruining to many open chances...

Feel sorry for Riise, you could see after the game he was absolutly devestated about the goal... It is costly and will make it far to interesting on stamford.

We can still win this, if we play like we did in the second half at stamford we will blow them off the field!!

Go on you reds YNWA, and let chelski have their hopes up for a week!!

Fair play to all the players going up to Riise consoling him at the final whistle though.

Rafa Benitez has aired his discontent at the amount of injury time played in Liverpool’s Champions League semi-final, first leg draw with Chelsea on Tuesday.

The Spaniard was unimpressed with Austrian referee Konrad Plautz’s decision to play over four minutes of added time as John Arne Riise scored an own goal at Anfield to level the score at 1-1 deep into time added on.

“At the end, you must be really disappointed,” he said.

“One minute in the first half, four minutes in the second half.”

When asked directly if he was disappointed with the referee’s performance in particular, Benitez replied: “Yes. It’s not the first time.

“We knew before the game because it was the same against Marseille. So we knew it could be difficult.

“You can’t blame the referee for the goal, but it was one minute in the first half, four minutes in the second half – it’s difficult to explain.”

Looking ahead to the return leg at Stamford Bridge next Wednesday, Benitez said he wanted a similar performance from his side.

“We know we must play 90 minutes,” he added. “The team today was working really hard, especially creating chances, and we must do the same away.”

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Please have a heart you lot, 15 hours solid at work today, had to watch the game whilst juggling lots of homeless people kicking off, then I have to come on here and people are kicking off with eachother even worse

Nuff of that anyway, deleted some squabbling in this thread, we're all pissed off but can we try to retain some class and not just start on eachother willy nilly? That would be lovely, thank you
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
                Mine angry and defrauded young?

We looked hard working but showed nothing for it in the second half so we deserved what we got at the end. I'm not surprised Riise ****ed up, he was due a goal. I wanted Finnan to come on and Arbeloa to be switched. Course that didn't happen.

Of course Michael, whatever you say, I wouldn't want my excruciatingly annoying dancing pandas to start exploding again or anything would I?

Aye, no reason to turn on each other, or JAR.

We will still go through. I believe it more now than before todays game TBH.
                      3rd place. Worst champions ever.

You know we have had our fair share of luck recently. It is easy to blame riise and god knows i am one of his biggest critics but i feel we paid for our lack of ambition in the second half.
They are a poor chelsea side despite some world class players. It wouldn't be liverpool unless we do it the hard way and I actually think we will still somehow prevail.
This could be the making of us as a developing team. Lets see how we can really play when we have too.

Oh another thing thing. Despite riise being a very poor player, he doesn't deserve this amount of vitriol. Let's not stoop to other fans levels.
