    The inevitable Riise thread

Why Oh Why didn't he just put his foot through the ball instead of doing an Andy Gray impression,
after a long service to liverpool I hope he can resurrect his reputation in the coming weeks,
this and maybe last year he has been below the standards he set in his first few seasons, but I hope that header isn't the way we remember him,
c'mon j.a.r. lets have a thunderbolt in the next leg or even better in the final.

bit harsh calling him a penis. He had to do something, Anelka was right behind him. it was a difficult ball to deal with. As you say lets hope JAR scors a thunderbolt for us next week

I don't think its harsh, surely a foot is easier to control than a head at 6 - 12 inches off the floor

He won't be playing next week. No chance. He will appear only in the reserve teams we put out and will be sold promptly at the end of the season. An unforgiveable mistake.

Ok, I guess we can't really avoid the inevitable Riise thread after that, but I might have to edit the title slightly.

Despite one of the most suicidal moments of defending I've seen in a long time, and a very poor season overall, JAR has been a long servant to the club and given us some great moments over the years, whatever happens in the second leg that won't be his defining moment in a red shirt as far as I'm concerned.
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
          Mine angry and defrauded young?

With Aurelio injured he may have to. Unless Arbeloa goes to LB I suppose.....

We should offer Riise a 10 year contract and made him the captain. Why people can't respect great player like Riise?

I was trying to be nice calling him a penis, and I agree that he has been a good servant for us, but i feel this will be his lasting memory in a red shirt unless he pulls something out of the bag in the next leg or even better the final.

It was never Riise's fault...disappointed with Mascha and Arbo giving Kalou so much space.

Rafa will be pissed. Insua is next season.

You can't put your right foot through the ball if you don't have a right foot to begin with.
I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

Bad error today but JAR has been a decent player for us over many years now which shouldn't be forgotten.

If Riise is not scoring, what is he adding to the side?

He is a poor player, and tonight was another example of his ineptitude. He has scored 2 goals against Liverpool this season, and I can't really remember him doing much else.
