I think you just made that up.Originally posted by PostmanPat View PostHeard Riise still managed to get Lampard's shirt after. That must count as a good result for him.
Some people are really showing themselves up in this thread. And people have a go at me for being honest. Great."Let me say for the record, I am not a gangster and never have been. Oh now come on, that's just being silly. Professional footballer or not, fact is he had a split second to decide what to do with that cross, or else the Chav behind him would have scored. He made the wrong decision. Unlucky - yes. A bit **** - certainly. But to say that he "cares in a different way to the rest" as if somehow he'll be sat there now not giving a **** about what happened, well, its ridiculous.Originally posted by PostmanPat View PostHe was hardly going to walk off with a smile. He cares in a different way to the rest. He did not learn his mistake after the Luton OG.

Is he good enough these days? No, not really. Was that a nightmare moment? Yeah, it was. But some of the vitriol coming out tonight about him is just so distasteful.I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?

I suppose in his position he's more likely to score an own goal than a player who generally plays in a more advanced role? I have enormous sympathy for him, he must feel like **** now.Originally posted by PostmanPat View PostHe was hardly going to walk off with a smile. He cares in a different way to the rest. Massive respect to Anelka, he did **** all celebrating when JAR landed one in his own net.Originally posted by ohhh_yeah View Post

What a ****! Celebrating as if he was the one who scored it.

The reality is he ****ed up and theres a decent chance we'll get knocked out because of it. I'm sure he will be gutted but people are entitled to be angry and vent, call it one of the few negative aspects of being a professional footballer.
