As someone mentioned earlier, the MOTM stats towards the end of the season tell a different story. He did well by everyone's standards.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Key is that there are a multitude of players who could have done better.

In a season where very few players covered themselves in glory, IMO.

He certainly hasnt done particularly well by the standards of LFC.
Unless of course we're now considering 4th place as being a top achievement.

There is no disputing the fact that he and other players haven’t performed to the required standard, that’s why many of them are on their way.

But going into a new season with a clear head and a bit more confidence, I think there will be plenty of improvement from Dirk.

If we have the money to break the bank and go for a world class winger, then certainly Kuyt can be sacrificed. We appear though to be aiming at our usual market, and I don’t know if we can expect much improvement for that price.

Haven't read a word of the thread (probably for the best) but the man is a legend.

Ultimately though it's not a popularity contest. I like ShaggyAlonso & Ben Tover too...doesnt mean they should play for LFC
Fool, I could work for Liverpool. I would like George's job.

Thing is, another 'more talented' player would not be giving us the attributes that Kuyt does. I bet he'll score a lot of goals next season and stop all these stupid discussions.

He's not good enough to be in the 1st team, not up front and not on the right.
I'd keep him in the squad, but we need better players to win the league. You can't win the league with a "winger" who's slower than most full backs.

Also we then ditched it from the Wigan game until Inter (9 game inbetween of 442) so Kuyt has played the majority of the season as a striker (So can we please lose the myth that he played as a winger the majority of the time. ) His lack of league goals in that time is shocking tbh.
Kuyt's lack of goals in the league has been a big big problem this season and has cost us valuable points in mid season. Altho he nearly maked up for it in the CL, sadly it wasn't ment to be this season.
I think he will stay on as a squad player next season. Its obv Rafa is after atleast 1 winger and i think it is for Kuyts position rather than Babels. I can see Stevie G playing out on the right if we sign a playmaker also.
Berry left - Babel right, watch this space.

Was ****ing quality in Europe and gave us a bit of edge away from home, something we've sorely lacked at times. Shame he can't beat people. Verdict - good squad player, should be retained unless a big bid comes in.

He will do a lot better IMO. He's struggled after the death of his Father, and before. He is coming back into form and will improve further, albeit as a squad player. (hopefully)
