Didn't understand some of the subs Rafa made; and as others have said it's the fine margins that got us, but it was those fine margins that got us through the last few times too.

Only positive is that we don't have to "endure" 90 minutes in a final against Man U.

Personally I think he envisaged using his 3 subs as Pennant, Babel and Crouch if we got to the situation we were in. But Skertel's injury meant he could only do two of those three.

I would have brought Babel on instead of Pennant and if he had to take Torres off bring on Crouch. but it's over now

On another note, for all the media coverage and his angry comments, that was the fist time Drogba hasn't dived in a match for a long long time.

My thought

Riise - good riddance , what was he doing for both of Drogba's goals
Aberloa - not good enough, gave away the ball and seems to lose concentration
Alonso - very poor season on the whole
Kuyt - works hards but not good enough
Penant - not good enough

Rafa got it wrong tonight, taken off are top goalscorer and leaving Kuyt on the pitch.

Hopefully Rafa learns and is given a huge kitty to bring in quality first team players not squad fillers

That squad isn't good enough. I don't think anybody would disagree with that.

That squad though was one goal away from another Champions League final.

We should be ****ing proud tonight. If we can improve the squad in the summer and cull the deadwood, next year we could be winning the trophy again.

I thought Chelsea deserved to win this game, just as we deserved to win the first game.

I think people miss the point when they say Gerrard doesn't show up against the best teams. In fact, the best teams have a plan to counter Gerrard and we do not have enough creativity elsewhere in the team to take advantage of a team that defensively is focussed on stopping two players (Torres and Gerrard).

I hope we will strengthen the squad in the summer, but rather than concentrate on defensive positions I would prefer the money to spent on making us offensively more of a handful so that it is more difficult for a team to nullify our threat. (I think that is the main reason why the gap between us and Manure seems so big.) Having said that we did score two and might perhaps have had a third.

Oh well. Another year, another chance.
