Rafa's pre-match criticism of Drogba

Of course it had an affect. You don't need a degree in psychology to work that one out. Put yourself in Drogba's situation. it made him more determined than ever and someone in that mindset of course has a better chance of doing better things, which is what happened.

Did he shoot harder, or run quicker to the ball for his goals than he otherwise would? I very much doubt it.

Whether he needs it or not, i think in this case, that's exactly the affect it had.

That's because he doesnt fight for Chelsea IMO. He's leaving, probably to wherever Jose goes. Rafa was only pointing out how ridiculous the ref was last week. I would of been much harsher

As far as I'm concerned, Rafa's strategy of pointing out Drogba's diving worked. At no point during the match did he dive. He didn't dare. Rafa successfully turned it into a fairer contest and not one decided by cheating which was Rafa's aim all along.

Thought the ref's had a blinder as well, all things considered.

I know for a fact that if he said something about me, I'd be overly determined to get one over on him, leading me to be far more focused and concentrated, and when you're far more focused and concentrated, your performance over time is much better and that goes for anything in life, not just footy.

Yesterday, if Drogba wasn't so determined, he may not have found himself in those positions to get his 2 goals, he may have been strolling around like a lazy ******* which is what he does quite often.

Well they obviously did as they said he had a poster of Rafa pinned up on his locker door that he wouldn't take is eyes off before the match and then when he scored he decided to make a point of it by running over to Rafa and celebrating like a fairy in front of him....

If they 'didnt register', Drogba wouldnt have made a point of having a pop at Rafa after the game. I find it a no-brainer really, but each to their's.
