Did he shoot harder, or run quicker to the ball for his goals than he otherwise would? I very much doubt it.

That's because he doesnt fight for Chelsea IMO. He's leaving, probably to wherever Jose goes. Rafa was only pointing out how ridiculous the ref was last week. I would of been much harsher
Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

When when your argument is based on 'Of course it had an affect', the patronising tone doesn't sit well.

Thought the ref's had a blinder as well, all things considered.

Nice try but doesn't really work as the next 3 sentences from that post is actually my argument.

Anyway, there's no point in arguing, some people jsut won't see it no matter how much you try and make them and that's why we're not all scientists

or are you getting at my use of the word affect rather than effect? If so, you must feel fantastic. I'll have 2 of what you're having!!

So you don't think that that extra motivational factor would do anything at all to out detriment?

I know for a fact that if he said something about me, I'd be overly determined to get one over on him, leading me to be far more focused and concentrated, and when you're far more focused and concentrated, your performance over time is much better and that goes for anything in life, not just footy.

Yesterday, if Drogba wasn't so determined, he may not have found himself in those positions to get his 2 goals, he may have been strolling around like a lazy ******* which is what he does quite often.

In the scale of what would make a player determined in a CL semi final at home, no, I don't think Rafa's comments would really register.

Well they obviously did as they said he had a poster of Rafa pinned up on his locker door that he wouldn't take is eyes off before the match and then when he scored he decided to make a point of it by running over to Rafa and celebrating like a fairy in front of him....

If they 'didnt register', Drogba wouldnt have made a point of having a pop at Rafa after the game. I find it a no-brainer really, but each to their's.
