    Riise upset with contract situation.

John Arne Riise has vented his frustration at not yet being offered a new contract at Liverpool.

Riise, who was part of the 2005 UEFA Champions League and 2006 FA Cup winning sides, has one year left to run on his present deal at Anfield but is keen to know where his long-term future lies.

The Norwegian has admitted that if he is still in the dark in the close season he may even look at a potential move away from Merseyside.

    Decision

"I don't feel that I have been treated badly, but I think that the club should have said something since I've been here seven years," Riise told Dagbladet.

"I've won everything that we have won and I've played everything that's worth playing. It's up to the boss to decide.

"It's disappointing that everything is so tight, with one year left on my contract and I haven't heard anything.

"I don't know what the manager thinks, no-one does. I don't think about moving on but something has to happen this summer. It's hard to say anything for sure but I will consider a switch to another club this summer.

"There's two games left of the season, and I can get my 350th game for Liverpool. That's 50 games a season almost, I have nothing to prove."

He is seriously deluded. No chance he is getting a new contract.

    He has a good point.

The club should let him know what's happening one way or another.

    Fantastic servant.

He says he has nothing to prove! Yes he does and so does every player who wears the shirt. I reckon if he was asked about his form he would say he is playing as good as ever.

I think he just really wants a new contract, he has been here a while and likes it. If he was to be offered one, he wants to know.

The only thing he should be offered is the door.

A polite request to close it firmly behind him on the way out maybe.

no way. the service and he has given us over the last 7(?) years not to mention the games he has won us or the golas he has scored means he deserves a big thankyou when he goes.

Despite his drop in form Gingernuts has been a fantastic and loyal servant to our beloved football club and is as committed a red as the rest of us, and for that he deserves closure. No-one would've been more heartbroken over the semi-final exit than Riise and, while im not his biggest fan, I think that if there is still such a thing as 'the Liverpool way' the club and supporters should show the guy a bit more respect!

                          The same goes for Crouch.

Very harsh seeing some comments about JAR. He's been a fantastic servant and player for this club. He was part of our successes of late and for that alone he deserves a lot more respect.

                              A little respect

I am not 100% sure of the details but I recall when he joined us there was a hold up in him signing and the upshot of it was he gave up some £300K of bonus (or something like that) due from his previous club, in order to get his move to Liverpool. In the grand scheme of things (in the EPL) £300K may not be that much these days but it was then, and still is, a serious chunk of change and I think the boy, even if he has been out of form this season, has been a good servant and deserves some respect in being advised what the boss is thinking.
In contrast, we looked to sign players like Lucas Neal who, from what I can see, is just a money grabbing piece of Sh*t who couldn't hold a candle to a player, morally, like JAR!
Worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do but does not actually get you anywhere.
