Are you guys happy with the ex-Brazilian player of years's first season for us?

In his first matches he looked good, first season and all.. did everything nice and easy.

...but is it just me, or has he gotten worse as the season has gone?
(not based on today, but he was terrible today wasnt he?)

He has to be a good player, as they cant be handing out Player of season awards out for fun in Brazil, but his touch seems bad, passing not good enough, no drive and clear idea of what to do with the ball.

Hope he has a real tranformation this summer...

He's very very ordinary for me. People say it's his first season and he's capable of so much more etc etc but I'm not so sure. Usually, even in these cases they will show a lot of flashes of potential etc but he jsut hasn't for me shown anything at all that would leave me to believe he is going to be anything other than decent

I didn't think he would have been this involved this season.

I think he has done well. Everybody was banging on about Plessis after the Arsenal game yet Lucas is only about 3 months older than him.

For him to come in and play that many games whilst the players we have of a similar age haven't really had a look in, Lucas has done very well.

Hopefully we will see more of him next season.

I think after a pre-seaon on some (much needed) weights and fitness work he'll be better. He still seems to struggle with the pace of the Premiership. Has shown good stuff in flashes, kept it nice and simple etc. His goal against Havant shows what he can do, and I like that he went for that overhead today

He's definitely underwhelmed me so far but have high hopes for him next season.

I'd definiteley wait until the end of next year nefore giving him a proper judgement but if Alonso stays and Barry comes in, he may not get a look in..

He just needs confidence. He looks a bit overawed and so would most players vying for a place with Alonso,Mascherano and Gerrard. Like Babel I think we will see the best of him next year. He looks like he has the talent.

I think he's been steady without being spectacular, he's done a job whilest adapting to a new league and not playing regularly. And while I can't remember any spectacular games I can't remember any awful ones either

A years experience in the Premiership will hopefully aid his development and we will see more of him next year

Agree with this.

I think people are being harsh because they were expecting more from him.

He has been steady, but unspectacular.

The time to judge him will be next season.

he's no world beater yet but he's shown some exciting moments and when he's on his day, he's very composed, accurate with his passes and a very, very good player. sure we've only seen this a handful of times and most often he looks 'ordinary' but at the end of the day, he's very you, just moved from brazil to england and is settling into a top side competing against 3 world class midfielders. he's already ousted sissoko who's good enough for juve to invest 8mill in.

he may become amazing, he may fail. who knows.
