    VORONIN IS ****!
Offers very, very little - he's not a natural at all, so seems ponderous and laboured in making a simple footballing decision on the pitch.

I have a sneaky feeling he'll be staying next season too

He is there as an advert of Liverpool Football Club's equal opporunities policy, no matter the disabilities.

While I don't think he is good enough or anything like I do believe people are overly harsh on Voronin. He looked a decent player early in the season and has been useful to us on a number of occasions such as the first Arsenal game of the season. He was only ever going to be a squad player used to fill in not sure why people have got so overexcited about the topic, he was a free transfer and I doubt took vast wages (in the context of the other members of our squad). Possibly a gamble that failed to come off but hardly a particularly risky one.

What has surprised me is that when he has had the chances to play after his injury he has looked pedestrian at best, he doesnt chase anything, lopes after the ball, and looks like he'd rather be elsewhere.

My biggest problem with him is taking a spot in the squad for next year, I've a feeling he'll stick around, I'd much prefer leaving the 4th striker spot to a decent kid. Which also frees up money on the wage bill.

Looking at the squad, it was unrealistic for us to have expected a genuine title challenge this year. We have to start admitting that imo. We weren't far off, a couple of stupid results here and there avoided and we would have been very close, but in all honesty, in terms of how the sum of all our players have performed this season, combined with one or two vital injuries (ie. Agger), we always were going to be a little bit off the eventual winners. I'd hope that point would be given by most people.

Now then, lets look at the first team players, apart from Voronin we've brought in in the last 12 months.

Torres - No brainer, excellent buy
              Mascherano - ditto
              Babel - promising, good buy
              Skrtel - ditto
Lucas - jury out still, ok buy
Benayoun - Justified his move imo, but no more than that, ok buy

Looking at that, we've done pretty well in terms of personnel. With the exception of Voronin, I don't think we can say any of the above were bad purchases. And Voronin was a free transfer, basically replacing Fowler as 4th choice. Worth a punt, didn't happen. End of. Rafa has a proven record of moving on players he's brought in that haven't worked out - Nunez, Morientes, Bellamy, Kronkamp, Josemi, Gonzales etc, often without taking much of a loss, and despite having played them right up to the last day before sale.

I'm pretty sure people aren't really blaming Houllier for anything, but Rafa has had a lot of work to do to turn this club around, and an awful lot of players to move on who we were having to take big losses on. It is only really now that he is getting to operate in the transfer market with a squad that is entirely of his building, and although this summer is going to be vital in terms of him finding the few missing pieces for the jigsaw, I reckon that if we can bring in players of an equivalent quality to what we've brought in in the last twelve months, we'll be more or less there. Then will be time to judge.

I think alot of people have forgotten or not realised that football has moved on since the Houllier/Benitez transition. The Abramovic cash into Chelsea has raised the bar in terms of quality but depite that we are probably closer now to Chelsea and Mancs than we have been at any point in the past 10 years or more IMO that is testiment to the job Rafa has done
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Is exactly the way I'm looking at it. He came for free, scored a couple of goals but he didn't work out. He'll be shipped out.
No big deal really. Every manager has taken a punt on players. Don't really see what everyone is getting so fussed about.
Well, here we are in a room with two manky hookers and a racist dwarf. I think I'm heading home.

IF Rafa sells Voronin this summer for 2-3 Million then it's been worthwhile. I hope that's the plan all along

Voronin is a disgrace, he should not be allowed wear the liverpool shirt ever again, much rather Nemeth, Pancheo play or are on the bench for the game with spurs

Sweet. If he's worth 2 we'll prolly get 8 if we sell to them.

Voronin ain't good enough but the terms waster, prick and disgrace show that we really do have a minority of idiotic support in our ranks.

He doesn't have what it takes but he's done nothing to be labelled with the same descriptions that are fitting to a player like Diouf.

You'd have to be crazy to pay £2m for Voronin. I doubt he'd even cut it in the Championship or even Scotland!!!

BFG you are talking rubbish we are all entitled to our opinion in my opinion he is a disgrace and makes no effort at all, if that is good enough for you as Liverpool Supporter that is fine with my, personally speaking I want players who try and make a contribution to improving the team and winning trophies players like Voronin wont do that
