Anyone else concerned with LFC without Stevie and Carra?

Carra will be 31 in January and Stevie will be 28 at the end of the month.

I'm not writing both off yet, but slightly concerned about the future of LFC without them. Both have given their sweat and blood to the LFC cause and have helped us land a number of trophies during their time here.

Will we go down the Arsenal route of having a team of virtually all foreigners? I know Barry and Bentley could well be on their way here, but it's not the same as having local lads. I personally would break the bank in the summer to sign Micah Richards, even though defence is not necessarily a primary position.

For me Rafa has to get his summer transfers spot on with no room for errors. He's been here long enough to know what qualities are needed to succeed over here with regards to any potential overseas targets.

    Thoughts?

Not concerned in the slightest. Obviously they are great players, and any team would miss them, but things move on. Carras replacements are already here, and Stevies may well be already here as well in the ressies. IMO the only player we really struggled to replace was souness. (yes kenny was unique, but as a team i mean here.)

How many players have come from the youth system for Manchester United since the Nevilles, Giggs et al and are currently in the side?

        Brown? One player.

I think Hammill might make it

I ****ING HATE UNITED SO MUCH. IF I HAD A MAGIC LAMP ONE OF MY WISHES WOULD BE TO WIPE THAT CLUB OF THE FACE OF THE PLANET.

Anyway we have had better players that Gerrard and Carra leave to be replaced with players just as good or better

plus we already have a team made up of virtually all foreigners. i've got no problem with that so long as they show passion for the club and its cause. we go on about OTT's etc and they have shown that they care for LFC as deeply as someone that lives on anny road. surely the same can be true of the players themselves.

as much as we love carra and stevie, the club will - and must - move on once they can no longer perform to the best of their abilities. we might not find the 'new' gerrard straightaway ... but whose to say that in time we wont find someone even better?!

Here's to hoping Adam Pepper will be ready to make the step up by the time Stevie and Carra are winding down

There are a couple of players that could maybe sometime possibly make it as squad players we never know. Ecclestone, Amoo, Darby, Pepper to name a few and even Anderson.
                * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

I think we can cope with the loss of Carragher in a few years, by then Skertel and Agger will have enough experience of the premiership to take over from him, we just need to see which one of them will be the one to organise the defence the way Carra does now.

Gerrard will still have a few good years in him yet, and we'll have to see what happens with that one
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I agree mate, Carra and Stevie have a few more years in them yet for us to panic but, when the time comes to replace them as with any other Legends we've had in the past, i'm sure they will be replaced with equill qualities as Carra and Stevie have

Stevie has a fantastic engine, I can't see him retiring a day before he's 35 to be honest. Carra has a couple of years left in him at least, even if it is as a reserve a la Hyypia. Obviously replacing Stevie would cost a lot, but I have high hopes for Lucas, he just needs to bulk up a bit and get the pace of the league. Hopefully a few young local lads can step up in the future, you never know.

What about Johnson from City as Stevie's understudy
I hadn't realised what a big lad he was -he lost possession a fair bit but in saying that not much running from the Citeh players -he's got a great engine anyone see the ground he covered to make the tackle covering in the corner of Annie Rd?
                        Definately one I go for

And Carragher can do a Maldini.

He will pepper the goal with shots one of these season(ing)s.
