Thanjk you.
Paul.S
I think he'd been called up for that pointless tour of the USA and that was it, aye. He played well though, if I remember correctly.
Correct. Set up a couple for Owen. Didn't Southampton get relegated that season? Surely he would have moved on somewhere anyway. Was lucky it was to us I guess.
If you play Torres and Crouch then what do you do with Gerrard? you can't (or Rafa won't, rightly in my view) play him in CM as 1 of 2, if Rafa playes SG wide right he behaves like a total tart and throws his toys out, chats to Redknapp and his other mates in the media who then bring it up at every opportunity.
To much is made of 'the Liverpool way' Rafa picked the squad, they weren't in it so how about Riise saying thank you to to fans that have stuck by him for 7 largely average seasons? what about Crouch thanking the fans that didn't turn on him during 20 odd games without a goal???
The most important thing is Liverpool FC, by definition that makes the next important person the manager because he has the decision making power.
Like it or not players don't matter in the grand scheme of things.
There is no room for sentimentality unless you are a proper legend (God)
Robbie was allowed a send off, Rafa even brought him off a couple of minutes early to allow him a standing ovation.
I think Gerrard should play in central midfield, that's his best position.
Like I said if Crouch and Riise were at least on the bench they would've been able to say thankyou to those fans and those fans could've shown their respect to them.
Like it or not mate, to a certain extent this club is built on sentimentality, yes at their best Shankly and Paisley were ruthless, but they were also passionate and compassionate people and passion is a sentiment. Furthermore Liverpool is one hell of a sentimental city that's why football means so much.
Talk about getting side-tracked. People need to chill out a bit. I think there are arguments for Rafa and against Rafa. Both sides need to accept it and debate properly rather than revert to name calling or just plain slating each other
